So I booked my 15 year old nephew and I on the 3 day "ABC Tour"
Things that were awesome: !*PAUL*!
Paul was our tour guide on the 2nd day which actually got a bit shuffled around because of high winds the ferry boat wasn't going to do the afternoon sailing back to the mainland so we did a 1/2 day on the island and afternoon on the cliffs tour with Paul instead of a full island day and at the end of the day we were stoked that we had made the decision to stay with Paul. He was AMAZING, funny, knowledgeable, friendly and super easy going. He made this a 5 star review all on his own. He had the whole bus entranced, interacting and completely compelled to have the best day ever. He got us on the bus on time at ever stop out of sheer wanting him to like us. I have been to 11 countries and on countless tours and he by far was the best guide I've ever had.
The attractions themselves were wonderfully picked always with extra bits thrown in that made it more fun and adventurous.
Things that were okay: Time at attractions
We walk and explore quickly and never quite felt like we had enough time at any of the locations we visited. I don't know that it could be done any differently by the company but it would be nice to have more time at these amazing places.
Tommy: He was knowledgeable, super nice (even when 2 people were 25 min late to the bus after the cliffs!) and a good tour guide. I enjoyed him and would have been happy to take another tour with him at any time. The 15 year old found him a bit dry but we both thoroughly enjoyed our day with him.
Thing that was bad: Mike
He did our tour on the 3rd day and if I were reviewing just him he'd get a 2 star at best. He was knowledgeable but a HUGE bully. He literally stated that Irish people don't like anybody and boy did he act like it. He constantly was rude and didn't seem to get that he was making most people on the bus uncomfortable when he would zero in on them and make comments that just should not have been made. He joked about being a bully himself and stated that people don't always understand Irish humor but I'm telling you that's not it. We went from having a lovely day with Paul who joked constantly and had people line up to shake his hand at the end of the day to a day where no one laughed or seemed to enjoy Mike at all and couldn't get off the bus and away from him fast enough. The day itself was saved by the time we spent off the bus but I would never agree to be on a bus with that man again.
