This was a great tour, we had a wonderful time. Our tour guide was extremely knowledgeable and very informative. The museum was very well done as well. We learned a great deal about Irish history and cemetery traditions. We would highly recommend this tour for anyone travelling to Dublin.

Talk time to visit Glasnevin Cemetery and Museum for a walk through some on the history of Ireland. Several important figures in the shaping of Ireland are laid to rest. If you are interested in the history of Ireland add this stop to your itinerary.

I remember visiting Glasnevin Cemetery over 10 years ago when there was no museum or tours and I found this place amazing. I was walking for hours in silence and contemplating monuments, stones, names.
Then I was back there many times in previous years.
If you want to touch Irish history, go there.

On a friend's recommendation we half heartedly decided to book the guided tour for this historical landmark. Were we surprised? - absolutely! Our guide was a knowledgeable young man so obviously interested in the history this garden of rest held. He tour lasted an hour and a half but the group of sixteen could have stayed on for longer. This cemetery is cared for by a staff who have pride in heir work. The magnificent Daniel O'Connell tower can be climbed by appointment. You can visit the crypt at the base of the tower and actually touch the "Liberator's" actual coffin. The monument to Michael Collins stands proudly at the entrance ... there are so many other snippets of history that the guide imparted that we felt we should have written it all down! Well worth the visit.

Well it is certainly good to hear that we are worth the trip, while this is not as entertaining as the tour, we have an interactive map here which you can use to uncover the stories of some our most well-known residents https://www.glasnevintrust.ie/visit-glasnevin/interactive-map/. Thanks for your review!
