“Fantastic view”

I enjoyed the stay at eagles rest, a cute, well equipped place with a fantastic view over the sea! You can see eagles and watch the beautiful coast from the sitting place! It was exactly what I was looking for - very relaxing and quite - just the right thing to reload your batteries. I can highly recommend this place!

“High Standard Getaway on Beautiful Scottish Isle”

My wife and I stayed at Eagles Rest in June for a week. The pictures on the website don't really do the property justice. Eagles Rest is positioned on the NW side of the Waternish Penisular in the small community village of Geary. The property overlooks Loch Snizort and hosts a variety of wildlife including seals, minky whales and of course eagles which nest in the croft. The property itself is modern and well equipped with a cosy fire and wonderful views. The bedroom is in the loft space with a door opening out onto a grassed area with balcony which was a favourite to sit a watch the sun go down, albeit this did not happen to well after midnight.

John and Catrina are excellent hosts who supplied us with a lovely starter hamper which included essentials and a nice touch of lovely shortbread, wine and beer which were greatly received after a long journey.

There are plenty of walks on the Waternish Penisula itself but a car is a must to get the most out of Skye. A few places worth visiting are:

The Troternish Ridge
Coral Beach
Portree
The Inn at Stein
The Three Chimneys Restaurant

I would not hesitate in recommending Eagles Rest as a wonderful retreat centrally located on the North of the Isle as a base for touring.

Wearrived to find a gorgeous , romantic, relaxing property, with a well stocked hamper of local produce. Everything was perfect for our break, the property has everthing you need, and John and Catrina are brilliant hosts.
Eagles at the bottom of the field are amazing, the views are breathtaking, try small and cosy tea house, Staffin and Red Roof Cafe is a must.
We will definitely return, thank you for an amazing time.

“A perfect and peaceful hideaway”
Reviewed 7 October 2011 for a stay in September 2011

Unbelievably peaceful, you feel as if you are as far away as it's possible to be from the stress of modern living. Accommodation is modern and comfortable and the views from the bedroom are spectacular. Neighbours sell cakes, eggs, cheese and jam from their crofts. John, the owner, goes out of his way to make you feel welcome and advise on local attractions including the wildlife such as sea eagles, dolphins, otters and much more.

“A gem - plus real eagles.”

A fantastic place for two - the cottage could not be better. Real attention to detail. Like you had taken the best boutique hotel suite and added a kitchen and living area and put it in just about the best scenery with the best view you are likely to get anywhere in the UK. Great for exploring or just sitting and watching the sky and the sea change shades - and not just one eagle but a selection ! We saw both sea and golden eagles daily. Excellent hosts who cant do enough for you and are a mine of information. Plus the two best behaved and charming black labs ever.
