Nice and central for visiting west coast.
Review of Travelodge Ayr
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed 3 Oct 2016via mobile
Easy to find and not too far from the centre of Ayr. We chose it for its dog friendly credentials and affordability for a last minute weekend break. If there was a criticism (apart from the normal clinical blandness of the room),is that there was no seating apart from one hard chair at the counter/dressing table area. It was a big room with enough space for a sofa, there were two of us with no where to sit and watch a bit of television before heading out for dinner. Apart from that, the room was clean, fresh and the bathroom was also clean and fresh.
It was good value for money as always, but I feel that £20 extra for our dog is excessive. We always bring her basket and bowl, she is a medium size dog and as responsible owners she is clean, quiet and there would be minimal extra cleaning. Most places charge £10, and so did Travelodge until recently.
This would be my second visit to this hotel as I'd previously stayed there once before on business. If you want somewhere with a bit more comfort and close to sea front then try The Horizon , it's a bit more expensive but you save on a return taxi fare if you want to go into town.
I'd go back as a business visitor as it's a convenient place to sleep. Next time we return as a couple I'd probably stay closer to town.

Had a room booked for 2 adults. Double bed ok for me but single bed was no more than a put me up camp bed which was far too small for my colleague or me to sleep in. Ended up paying over £200 more to get another room for 4 nights so that we could each have a bed. Staff agreed that single bed was too small and that many visitors had similar complaints. Will never stay in a Travelodge again!

First class accommodation as with other Travelodge hotels. Very clean and well presented rooms. The staff were all very professional and helpful. Hotel in a very handy location and easy to travel to different locations.

Was travelling with disabled daughter and family dog. Mostly use Travelodge's as they are very disabled friendly. The Ayr travelodge has a bedroom with full wet room . They offered extra towels for my daughters shower.
There were a couple of eateries near by and a subway sandwich shop opposite.

Good car parking and fairly easy to find. Just off the A77. So thanks travelodge.

Would definately use again .

Room tip: Ring hotel if you require wet room bathroom.
