Not as bad as last year but still poor.
Good:
- Requested room with no joining door and this was arranged so was much better.
- Bed and pillows are excellent
- Letter to let you know the details over Christmas and new year
Bad:
- Strong smell of Cannabis on first night (30th December) overheard someone asking to move rooms due to this, seemed to fill the 2nd floor but did clear up by the next night
- Lifts are dirty and old/worn
- Rooms are starting to look a bit overused
- Every towel I had was stained and even saw stained ones that were being given out as ‘clean’ on the cleaners trolley. I think it’s time for Marriott to purchase some new ones.
- As always no parking for 2 nights. Happy to charge you £15 a day for parking but can’t provide enough spaces. Better off not paying and parking in the street.
- Room was not cleaned very well, sticky glass stains on bed side table and dirty windows.
- Mini fridge did not work, pulled it out to check the settings, very dusty and dirty behind it and changing the settings did not help.
- Had booked breakfast for 2 days but decided to cancel these, when the invoice came through they had only cancelled 1 and charged for 1.
- Aircon is noisy and so is the car park if you are on that side of the hotel.
- Cleaners are very noisy in the mornings so no chance of any long lies.
-Curtains are all stained and hanging off
- Saw a tray beside the lifts where the cleaners were keeping their trolley, went out and came back a few hours later and the tray was still left behind.
Was worth trying again as prices were good but unfortunately still disappointing not good enough for being part of Marriott.
