Another celebration for two birthdays at the Sunday carvery. Excellent food and very good service. Good you are able to relax in the lounge afterwards and enjoy your tea and coffee. Very reasonably priced for this lunch.

Spent two nights at Atholl Palace on 10-12th January and was a very enjoyable stay. Staff could not have been more helpful in all areas of the hotel. Rooms very fresh, clean and comfortable. Evening meals were very good with plenty of choice from both menus and able to mix and match between both. Service very efficient and food excellent. Breakfast service equally good. Very good leisure facilities and never too busy. Do-owner Finn introduced himself at dinner and welcomed us to the hotel, very nice touch. Will definitely make a return trip to Atholl Palace in the near future.

very beautifull old castke/ hotel, with a museum inside the building.
Perfect rooms, good food and very friendly staff made our holiday to one of those we will remember for a very long time.
Also the surroundings of Pitlochry are worth visiting.

Room Tip: room available from 150 pound per night, but they are worth this amount

A one night break with my friend was not enough at this hotel and wished we had booked more nights as the hotel was so welcoming (with the little shot of whisky and honey liqueur on arrival) from Nick and Kirsty. A very Scottish Baronial type hotel which was very comfortable with the large sofas and cosy fires. Very spacious and the Stag Inn a lovely little pub within the hotel. We upgraded to a Valley View bedroom which had two windows and yes the view was lovely, not a very big room but the bathroom was big and had a shower over the bath and another large cubicle shower too. Some bits of the room and bathroom a bit tired but it did not spoil our trip and it added character to the whole place. The view from the Dining Room is beautiful especially in the morning whilst having breakfast. The bedroom corridors are wide and the carpet is so thick and spongy, just lovely to walk on though a large stain en route to our room 216 at the side just needs to be taken care of. There is a museum in the basement ans it was so interesting with little rooms explaining what they were used for years ago, and a video going through the years of the hotel. Very interesting indeed and appreciated it all being shared with all who come to stay here. We did not get the chance to walk the estate which looked lovely with the fountain and the funny swans in the pond! There is so much to do in the surrounding Pitlochry area and to make your base at the hotel would be great. The meal in the evening from the Table Dote menu was good, starters ok but the lamb was delicious with the roast potatoes and braised red cabbage. The frangipan sweet was fabulous with figs and very almondy taste but the black forest slice was really all cream and not much cake. I also thought the price of £9.20 for a large glass of house white wine was a bit steep, but all in all a good meal. Maybe do the al a carte menu next time? Service from the waitresses all very good but the welcome at breakfast from the very dapper gentleman Howard (with a cute moustache tie pin) was exceptional with his attention to detail and busying himself making conversation with all and attending to all our needs. Every hotel should have a Howard! Breakfast itself was delicious and all the accoutrements from honey for my porridge (porridge not the best far too runny), to Tabasco and Worcester sauce for tomato juice all at hand, great not to have to ask for these things. Haggis was amazing. As for the Lavender Spa, everything working and very clean. Spent some time in the pool, jacuzzi, sauna, steam room and even dared myself to jump in the cold plunge pool! The spa area has so much character with little rooms going off in different directions. Would have loved to have spent more time there and possible treatment. Would definitely go back.

Room Tip: Any room with a view
