“Lovely cottage in beautiful location”
Reviewed 8 June 2017 for a stay in June 2017

The cottage was great, with an interesting history, and set in a gorgeous location. We really loved staying here. The owners Janet & Alex were lovely too and supplied plenty of information about the local area and things to do. Would highly recommend a stay here :)

“A cosy old cottage with all the amenities, in beautiful, serene surroundings.”
Reviewed 31 May 2017 for a stay in May 2017

First things first - as well as a fully equipped kitchen (minus dishwasher) you modern folk can relax in the knowledge that Rowan Cottage has a surprisingly decent Broadband connection (for being pretty isolated), and freesat.

Lovely bit of land with a gorgeous view that sprawls across to the western hills across Loch Ness. Just being in the cottage, the veranda, or in the garden was very relaxing, and there is a variety of wildlife likely to visit during your stay.

Great base for exploring the area - we will be back! The only potential negative I'd mention (although it didn't effect us) was that the twin bed room has no door, only a curtain.

“Timeless oasis”
Reviewed 18 July 2016 for a stay in July 2016

Rowan cottage is the most relaxing and welcoming cottage. We loved our stay, with lovely local walks, monopoly with our children in the covered verandah on the odd rainy afternoon and relaxing on the open veranda, soaking up the stunning views, on sunlit evenings. We had a wonderful time and hope to be back soon! Thanks Janet and Rowan Cottage!

“Lovely peaceful in the forest by Loch Ness”
Reviewed 2 April 2016 for a stay in March 2016

Just back from a great stay at Rowan Cottage. The cottage is lovely in a very quiet and peaceful location in the forest just a few minutes from Loch Ness. Janet the owner was really friendly and helpful with information and leaving goodies for the family and dog. We loved the views from the garden of the forest and our labrador dog, Amber loved the garden.
Rowan cottage is in Inverfarigaig forest and we went on many lovely walks that included fabulous views of Loch Ness. Just up the road is Foyers which has a beautiful waterfall and a couple of nice places to eat lunch and have a tea and cake. The cottage is equipped with everything you could possibly need for your stay. The children 12 and 10 loved looking at the stars at night with the telescope. The cottage has a good internet connection and WIFI as well as free satellite TV and board games that kept us amused at night after we returned from dinner that we had at The Dores Inn or Whitebridge Hotel.
An excellent stay and we hope to visit again.
