The stench as we walked into reception churned our stomachs. Luggage drop off is in mouldy, litter strewn basement. Smell gets worse as you went further into building. Toilet lid broken in room, ceiling tiles coming down throughout, filthy absolutely everywhere, rooms were hoovered but rest of 'hotel' needs a thorough clean and redecorating, walls all round were stained and wallpaper peeling off. Whole building VERY worn and dated. The photos they have posted on their website do not represent reality..especially reception! Entrance area outside was disgusting with rubbish thrown everywhere. Price was extortionate, very poor value and we couldn't wait to leave. We even considered sleeping outside due to the terrible smell.

Location-wise - Great, same with price - It's cheap.

But whoa, it defies belief how bad it is. Bed bugs, really, really unstable bedding, bathroom with no lock a mere foot away from someone's bed. I was only there for a night, and did not enjoy it.

Thankfully there was only 2 of us in the 6 bed dorm (yet it still felt cramped).

What a nasty hostel, overdue a refurb, probably not up to code.

Just spend a couple of pound to stay somewhere decent.

Rooms were small and cramped. Three bunk beds spaced about a foot apart in a room about 12 feet by 10 feet in size. Beds were squeaky and uncomfortable. Guests in dormitory noisy and smelly. Cleanliness of bathroom was disgusting, No way I was taking a shower. Décor is tired and worn, chipped paint everywhere, mould on bathroom ceiling, pubes in shower. Never again. It was last chance saloon for me because reasonably priced accommodation in Glasgow was non-existent because of the Bank Holiday weekend and the Bryan Adams concert at the SECC and I had to be in Manchester for the Ed Sheeran concert and engineering works meant that getting into Glasgow on Sunday was well-nigh impossible.. I'd have had a more enjoyable night sleeping under the stars on the waterfront of the Clyde instead of in a cramped smelly dorm filled with flatulent snoring fellow travellers who started having a conversation about six in the morning. Avoid at all costs.

The location is convenient, in a center of Glasgow. The reception is open 24/ which is great for travelers. We had a room for 4 people with a bathroom. It was alright and seemed clean. We even had a tray with a kettle and some tea. And the price was very affordable.
But this is a old hotel, the room was big but quite depressing. The beds were not great and the decoration and the furniture quite ugly.
It is totally ok for one night but not a lot more.

Wouldn’t even give this hotel 1 star if a possible option. I made the mistake of not reading reviews before booking. Awful feeling as soon as you enter the building, as soon as my boyfriend and I entered our room we knew we could not stay for the 2 nights we had paid £70 for. Bedding was ripped and mattress definitely needed replaced. Smell of cigarette smoke in hotel even though no smoking sign on all doors. The floor was slanted upwards, therefor bed was at a slope too and made moving around extremely awkward. Old, outdated phone, not even on a bedside cabinet, just laid on the floor in the corner. Dirty looking marked towels in room.

Passed numerous ‘guests’ on the stairs who definitely seemed to be under the influence of some kind of substance. Huge disclaimer in lobby essentially saying items in rooms are not safe and management take no responsibility for any stolen goods, this made us feel unsure about leaving our luggage in the room whilst out for dinner.

After reading other reviews of people having hassle moving rooms and them all being of the same standard my boyfriend and I paid £65 and booked another hotel for our 2 nights in Glasgow. We checked out of the St Enoch hotel not even 4 hours after checking in. We did not complain nor ask for a refund after reading about other people’s bothers with this issue.

Hotel did not feel nor look clean and a genuinely unsettling place to be. Room was not at all like what was advertised on website.
