In Fife for a wedding, we decided to look for a place to eat on our first night here. We found this restaurant whose ambience looks very basic at the entrance but more cosy and welcoming as you go further ahead. We ordered three sharing plate (1 of them 4.85 pounds while 3 for 12 pounds): black pudding egg, chicken and stuffed jalapenos, all of them delicious. Our mains were even better: I had the haggis with whiskey sauce and mash that was outstanding! I would go back today if I didn't have a wedding to go to!

Second visit with my two daughters, one of my daughters needs gluten free food, she phoned beforehand and was told this wasnt a problem we arrived and were seated after about five minutes. We waited at least another fifteen or twenty minutes to get our menus and drinks order taken, we asked for a gluten free option, to which the waitress went and got the gluten free menu. My daughter ordered potato skins, but a main menu portion, thecwaitress returned and said tgat New menus had been put in pkace but the gluten free one hadnt been printed yet, so there were no potato skins on the new one. But since it was their mistake they would make them for her. She then said to my daughter to bear that in mind for future reference, to which I replied that for future reference they should have the new gluten free menu in place. I wonder whether this explanation was necessary and if they had the potato skins, what was the problem, my daughter was made to feel that it was a chore and somehow her responsibility in the future to ask if they had available what was on the menu. We noticed that there was a couple at another table where it was only the woman eating, we thought a bit strange, until we had been in at least thirty minutes and the man received his food when the woman had finished, he also had to remind the waitress that he had also ordered chips, she came back with them five minutes later excusing herself as she wasn' nt quite with it today? . Having said that the food was good and presented well, but the service was well below par. Won't be rushing back i' m afraid.
