Possibly the best museum I’ve ever visited, housed in a fabulous building!
It covers the same territory as the V&A, the Science Museum, the Natural History Museum and the British Museum (albeit on a smaller scale), with imaginative and well described displayed and splendid interactive activities for children of all ages
It assails the senses from the moment you step into the great gallery- and there is so much to see you could spend days there. Good places to eat or snack (and rest your feet) make this a place that you really shouldn’t miss

The museum itself is fantastic and worth a five star review. However, the part of the museum which lets it down is the ground floor cafe. This was our second experience of dining at the cafe. The first visit was marred by very slow service but today's experience was even worse as we had to wait nearly 45 minutes for a bowl of , not very good soup and a sandwich. We complained and were told it was because the cafe was busy and they only had two people in the kitchen. The cafe is a franchise and not run by the museum. Perhaps it would be better if the museum took control.

Very interesting museum, spaced out well. I was there for 3 hours but could easily have stayed longer. Lots of interactive things to do. With hindsight, I would have started on the right hand side of the museum in the Scottish History section and worked my way up each floor, then gone from top to bottom to view other exhibits. Fantastic views from roof terrace.

Popped into the museum as we were passing rather than deliberately and really pleased we did. Free like other museums in Scotland, well laid out in a beautiful building and interactive. The floors devoted to Scotland are especially good. You can spend a few hours here.

The museum has a variety of collections; animals, history and science! The time really does fly while you are visiting. My favourite museum so far. Highly recommend!
