We were surprised with how well-located this apartment is, just 1 1/2 blocks off the Royal Mile. Convenient grocery stores 1/2 block away, great pubs and restaurants. We walked everywhere, easy walk, nearly equidistant to Edinburgh Castle and to Holyrood house. The apartment itself was very comfortable, well appointed, with everything you'd need like a coffee maker, microwave, even a dishwasher.It was even surprisingly quiet given its location in the heart of everything. We highly recommend and will be back!
Great central location. Best to get around on foot, but if you have a rental car (like we did) there are 2 NCP car parks in the near vicinity. We parked in the St. John's NCP, it was quite convenient -- a less than 5-min drive from the apartment, and 10 min to get back on foot (£15 per 24 h, less if you leave it for a shorter time).
The apartment itself is in an old building, but the apartment's been well restored, and is very clean (including the bathroom). The only downside (especially for those who may be less "mobile") is that it's on the 3rd floor, without elevator. The apartment has everything you need: plenty of available electrical outlets (they even left an adapter for UK sockets), wifi, 2 TVs, nearly all the appliances you might need (oven, stove, dishwasher, washing machine -- there's even detergent for the latter 2; just no dryer), microwave, and even a hair dryer.
The owners (Mark and Gordon) were extremely responsive, friendly and helpful by e-mail prior to the rental, and in person when we picked up the key. Bottom line: I highly recommend this rental property.
Apartment was located in a central area, just a short walk to Royal Mile as well as the shopping street. There were many Halal restaurants in the area as well and that was very convenient for my family and I. The only downside to this apartment is the stairs...but I guess that's inevitable. Apartment is well-furnished and kept clean.
