“Quiet and serene”
Reviewed 27 July 2018 for a stay in July 2018

Just off the A75, far side of Dumfries so very easy to find. Lovely unspoilt area, wonderful welcome pack to greet us. Cottage very comfy and had everything we wished for, including wifi. Washing machine and dish washer. Friendly helpful owners. Lovely hidden garden at the back... go round the round house to find it. Used it as a base to go off to beaches and places of interest every day. Wonderful stars at night as hardly any light. Lovely swallows to entertain, also bats in the evenings... wonderful. Cows amid sheep in the field around. Happy to have the dog at no extra cost. Car was parked in the courtyard in front of the cottage. Lovely antique furniture in the bedroom.

“Comfortable and conveniently located”
Reviewed 22 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Located quite close to main road but not to close . Ideal base for getting out and exploring the area . The owners left tea coffee and milk which was appreciated .like the open plan kitchen living space and double doors at rear leading out to a small space with a bench table and beyond that a washing line and small garden . I would recommend this place and would like to come again .

“Cozy, clean, pet friendly cottage”
Reviewed 9 June 2018 for a stay in May 2018

We really enjoyed our stay at Hill View Cottage, it has all the amenities that one might need and was clean and well kept. There were even fresh flowers on the table, milk in the refrigerator, coffee, tea, and biscuits waiting for us as well. The location was easy to find, and close to several local beaches, which our dogs really enjoyed. We also visited Drumlanrig Castle, which wasn’t open the day we went, but we walked the dogs on the impressive 90,000 acre estate there, and still enjoyed the day there. We only had a few short days at Hill View, but we definitely want to go back and see some more places that we weren’t able to get to on this trip.

“THe perfect holiday in Scotland”
Reviewed 13 May 2018 for a stay in May 2018

Close to the motorway but the peace and quiet is second to none. Plenty of places to visit for all ages and numerous places to eat. The cottage itself has everything you could need and more. Comfort and cleanliness top rate. This was our second time at this cottage and could come back aytime.
