Dunaverty Rock Sea Captains Quarters was far and away the highlight of a five day driving holiday around the Western Highlands.
The location, the warm welcome, and the comfortable accommodation made our stay unforgettable for all the right reasons.
The view across to Ireland was spectacular in the daytime and fantastically exciting at night with the moonlit breakers crashing on the beach under stars unaffected by light pollution.
Donny, the owner, couldn't have been more welcoming or helpful, whether advising on parking ("not there, the tide might take it") or pointing out the remains of the castle and the burial site of the Chiefs slaughtered in the massacre ("a greater treachery than Glen Coe).
The apartment was light, airy and spotless with thoughtful touches from corkscrew to cafetière with coffee beans.
I'm looking forward to visiting again with the family.

Fantastic location right by the sea and by Dunaverty Rock. Wonderful views, peaceful location.Great approach across Dunaverty Rock golf course. Accomodation is spacious, very comfortable and well equipped. Was spotlessly clean but has a lovely homely feel. Really lovely sitting in the very pleasant lounge looking through the large windows onto the shore watching the birds and on one evening a seal on a rock. Bed one of the most comfortable we have ever slept in.
Very warm welcome from Donnie the owner who even helped carry bags in. He is really knowledgeable on the area and very helpful.
Village near by has a wonderful tearoom which also does breakfasts.
The Sea Captain's Quarters are a really lovely place to return to after a day exploring the area. Felt at home straight away. Would certainly recommend highly.

Booked a few days away to this gorgeous place for me and hubby n kids...loved it!
Chilled out relaxed and peaceful location almost on the beach,the accomodation was Very spacious and comfy too with superb gorgeous views,everything you need is here home from home tbh and most of area is safe for kids to play.
The owner donnie is such a friendly down to earth person , nothing is a problem and would say the man has the patience of a saint (after my 7yr kpt gassin his ears off).
We Defo enjoyed our short time here and have recommended it to rest of my family as i would to you too ! but im 100% sure il be booking again and spending a full week here in 2016 :)

We stayed here for a weekend break and it was just not long enough. There are three units of accommodation offered here the Sea Captains Quarters, Life Boat Station and The Summer Cottage. We had a night in Sea Captains and in Summer Cottage both were lovely.
Sea Captains Quarters are bigger with more more room for a family but the Summer Cottage is very cosy and ideal for a romantic getaway with position sitting right on the shore. It is great going to sleep listening to the water lapping on the shore! Both units have coal/log fires which is great for toasting your toes whilst sipping on a nice chilled wine!
Donnie the owner is extremely helpful and a font of local knowledge also. Nothing was too much trouble for him. There are lots of things to see and do nearby - if you are a golfer then Southend Golf Course is right beside Dunaverty, there are numerous sandy beaches to stroll on and also the Keil Caves to visit.
We have already booked to go back to this historic site ( a converted Victorian Life Boat Station). Cheers Donnie and see you soon.
