had a really great stay at Kinnettles Castle. Was a bit dubious about the dinner and breakfast arrangements, all being seated round 1 large table rather than individual tables, but it was far better than I expected and everyone was really friendly without being intrusive and we all got on so well, we ended up in the bar for a drink after dinner.

Staff were really good and very well trained, food at dinner was excellent, even the wee dog that belonged to the manager/owner was very welcoming while enjoying the attention of all the new guests.

room was lovely, bathroom was huge, think primarily for disabled users but excellent size, only issue we had was with the extremely small "cloakroom" sized sink in the bathroom that was so small it was difficult to use especially with the soap dish placed right above the sink so if you bent down to use the sink you had to try to avoid hitting your head on it. But a minor detail in what was a lovely hotel, with great food, friendly and attentive staff.

Will definitely return was a lovely location for a quiet overnight break, did have a walk round some of the ground in the morning, venue would be lovely in the summer to sit outside admiring the view.

Room Tip: We were in room 10 that had a connecting door to room 11, but no issue as door was locked as not being used as connecting during our stay

Stayed here one night dbb on itison deal, location is quite and away from everything, views from the castle are stunning, staff were friendly and courteous. Loved that it was only a small hotel and there were not a lot of people staying made it very peaceful and chilling, generally when we go away we stay in our room but here we sat in the lovely bar with its open fireplace and even ventured downstairs to explore the casino and billiards room, castle is gorgeous throughout, yes the dining is not your usual set up there is one large dining table for everyone but this was not an issue as there were not a lot of people there when we stayed. Overall this was one of the best hotels we have stayed in and I would not hesitate in returning.

We booked afternoon tea at the very last minute due to a change in our Mother's Day plans and the staff could not have been more accommodating. The afternoon tea was brilliant and we enjoyed the selection on offer. The sandwiches, scones and cakes were excellent and the staff were very attentive without being overbearing. The castle is beautiful and very cosy considering its size. We got a tour around the castle and were very impressed. The only area for improvement is relating to very low seating for afternoon tea. We didn't mention this at the time (I was just relieved they were willing to fit us in at such short notice!) but based on what I saw I'm sure if we had the staff would've gone out of their way to sort the issue. Would definitely recommend a visit!

I absolutely love Kinnettles Castle. This was my second visit within 3 years. It is a fantastic venue - a beautiful, well maintained castle in a peaceful setting but only 5 miles from town. Our junior suite was amazing and the view was breathtaking. Service was excellent and the range of facilities just gets better. I will definitely return as the dinner menu and afternoon tea looked fabulous. I would thoroughly recommend this destination which is perfect for a romantic night away

Room Tip: Room 5 was amazing and spacious. Bay windows to capture the view. Two turrets. Two showers in the bathroom ! A separate toilet and Lounge.
