“Sea view escape”

I stayed here with a colleague whilst attending the Offshore Exhibition in Aberdeen. Due to the lack of accommodation available and the extortionate prices that the hotels with rooms left were charging, we opted for something a little bit further out but well worth the journey.
To begin with, our Host Nichola was very accommodating and excellent with all communication. The house itself is in a lovely location overlooking the beach and well into the North Sea horizon. It is a newly built home with everything you need, high tech home entertainment system for all the techies and everything else you'd need just like being at home. I didn't want to leave!
For the outdoorsy types, there are endless rolling hills for cycling and walking. I brought my road bike with and thoroughly enjoyed cycling in the evening breeze. Or you can just enjoy a lovely stroll along the beach.
The accommodation was faultless and you couldn't ask for anymore at a very reasonable price.

Nichola also suggested an AMAZING pub in the neighbouring village that served some of the best food I've ever tasted. All made with fresh local produce. Seafield Arms in Whitehills. It was sooooo gooood, we ate there every night to sample the whole menu.

I was also very fortunate to see a shimmer of The Northern Lights from the beach late at night :-)

I would happily come back and stay here again to explore the region and highly recommend The Boathouse.

Thanks very much Nichola

Spent the weekend at The Boathouse. The house was first class, beautifully furnished with everything you could possibly need. Nice welcoming touches with milk bread and butter provided. There was even a fridge with bottles of wine and beer that you could purchase (just asked to leave the money) at very reasonable prices. The toiletries in the bathroom were also of a very high standard. The view from the lounge was beautiful and our whole weekend was very relaxing and peaceful. Nichola the owner was also very helpful and went out of her way to return property that we had left. I would recommend this property, It is one of the best rentals that I have stayed in. You won't be disappointed!

“Superb house, fantastic location and truly a home from home”
Reviewed 29 August 2013 for a stay in August 2013

We stayed at The Boathouse over the August bank holiday weekend. From the minute we opened the door we felt very much at home and welcomed. Nichola left us a welcome pack which was really thoughtful. Communication before and during our stay was superb. The house is fantastic, spotlessly clean and very well fitted out with all the comforts of home. It has been very thoughtfully appointed. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely be back. Don`t take any heed of the previous review about the caravan park. It was very quiet and looked clean and tidy. It certainly doesn't take anything away from the beautiful sea views from the house. We have stayed in many holiday cottages and houses over the years and The Boathouse is definitely up there and rated amongst the best for us.

“Excellent house. Surroundings should improve.”

The house itself is excellent. Nicely furnished with a very nice kitchen/living room and two big bedrooms we felt totally home during our two week stay. It's about 1 minute away from the beach that you can see from the house. Nichola has done everything to make it a very nice and friendly spot to stay even for a longer time.

The house is not located directly in Banff. To Banff or Whitehills in the other direction it takes about 25 min to walk or five minutes to drive.

You should consider that you look at a caravan park at the beach on your left side when looking out of the main windows and that the entire park where this house stands is not fully developed so far. The house next to ours was under construction and there have ben workers setting it up and there seem to come a few more to be build.

However we liked it very much and I definitely would recommend it if you plan a stay in this area.
