“Amazing Relaxing Stay Celebrating my 50th Birthday”
Reviewed 23 September 2014 for a stay in September 2014

I could not wait to visit Capel Cartref as I chose this venue to celebrate my 50th Birthday with my friends and family (a girls only break)! I felt a bond with Marnie from the moment I found this special venue as she was so helpful and attentive to our needs and the booking process flowed so smoothly! You can feel from the beginning of the booking process she wants you to have an amazing stay in her beautiful converted chapel!
I could not have asked for a better place to celebrate my special birthday! The place was stunning and had such a lovely warmth to it and we all felt like it was our home!
Marnie had left a present of a bottle of Cava and card, which was a thoughtful gesture.
It was a wonderful week as it is the perfect location to visit so many of the amazing places that Wales has to offer! Rhossili Bay was breathtaking and we were so blessed with the weather. (Who needs to go abroad when the weather is so good in GB - no hold ups at passport control, no waiting at the luggage carousel ! ) We arrived home feeling de-stressed, relaxed and with a glowing tan! Thank you for such a wonderful stay and can't wait to come back and recharge our batteries!

“A fantastic base to explore South Wales & a home from home!”
Reviewed 19 August 2014 for a stay in August 2014

This unusual property has everything you need for a large group, or in our case, the extended family with both sets of grandparents and both of our dogs. The chapel is clean, spacious and has everything you need for comfortable living. There are supermarkets within a couple of minutes drive, and a few local pubs serving good food. Oh and the post office/local shop is right next door, so you can get your morning newspaper.
Swansea is only half an hours drive away, and Rhossili Beach on the Gower peninsula is around 45-50 mins away. I would recommend Rhossili Beach to anyone - absolutely stunning, and best of all, the dogs are allowed on the beach and they loved it!

“Affordable luxury”
Reviewed 29 June 2014 for a stay in June 2014

This is such a great holiday let.

Everywhere is furnished immaculately and you can tell that the owner has cared about the smaller details, as there really isn't a thing missing that you could want in this place. There are also a lot of personal touches, making it feel like a home away from home.

There are so many creative uses of this old chapel installed into the building, including a relaxing mezzanine and what seems to what might have been used as a baptismal area, that I used as a stage.

There is so much space inside and out, and plenty for the kids to enjoy. There is a river out back that includes a lovely walk, but be careful with the little ones! The only possible negative I can think of is that there are a few gnats that come out at night time that bite so stay indoors and bring bite cream. and insect repellent.

Property situated right on the edge of the beacons so plenty of walking options and you are really only a hop skip and jump away from the gorgeous gower coast.

Marnie was extremely helpful, patient, friendly and understanding throughout the whole process, including the aftercare (as I very foolishly left an expensive item behind, where she kindly had it courierd for me).

Thanks for such a wonerful stay, it really does deserve the multiple 5 star reviews in receives and I hope to be back someday!

Wow! Thank you for that very informative review! Returning your item was no problem, these things happen. Thank you all for looking after the chapel so well and for the feedback regarding the evening gnats! I will pass this on for sure. Glad the area that 'will one day be fire a hearth' makes a good stage - never thought of that one! Do come back sometime soon. Take care and kind regards, Yonni and Marnie
