Lovely location, room was ok, shower seal let water underneath it and onto floor, but no big deal.
Hot food, both dinner and breakfast, reaches your table in less than 10 mins (meat is reheated) on the 'welshburger' (No not a sheep, still a cow..)
Both meals 'filled a hole', breakfast was included in the stay. You can hear the waterfall from the rooms front door.
Only stayed the one night, out of the 2 we booked, as come 4pm when its dark and rainy, we could either retire to the room for some 'heavy petting', or go to the bar and get pissed. We did neither, and set off the 300 miles home, having taken loads of pics and vids of the area.
The best views are a few mins further down the same road (A5), between Capel Curig and Bethesda, and back round the other side of the ridge, on the Llanberis pass.
Absolutely stunning views as you travel through the mountain passes!

Bought via Wowcher, we were a bit apprehensive due to the amount of negative feedback and not so constructive response from management. Upon booking I was told their is a diffirence when doing a regular booking vs a Wowcher booking as regards a room. That did raise my concerns as I don't particularly want to be told as a customer that there's different treatment depending on your booking method. Upon check-in we were given room no 29. While is does not have a view except of a rundown in appearance outdoor toilet facilities and a store room, our room was clean and more than adequate. Entering the hotel and going upstairs to our room I must say the hotel was clean and smelt fresh. It is clearly maintained to a decent standard and signage is most welcome giving directions in the corridors etc. We ate in the hotel both nights and had breakfast both mornings. Evening meals were prepared within 5 minutes of ordering. One thing worth mentioning is that the quality of the food is quite good. Most food tastes of good quality produce rather than processed catering food. Of course the quick service indicates pre prepared food. Overall it was decent quality and fair prices for the industry. Breakfast was good and prepared quick. Again the quality was good. Staff were very pleasant and helpfull both nights. The hotel and our room is inn a good condition and while I could nit pick regarding mould in the bathroom , dust , old carpets etc our room and the hotel was clean to an acceptable standard. As with most hotels countrywide they are very old and have a good old history. If you feel you need a modern hotel with new everything then don't stay in an old property. All I can say is go with an open mind and enjoy your stay. I could honestly say that their is nothing I could fault with our stay or accommodation and meals. The (pay and display)parking incidentally is free for those staying at the hotel or refundable for patrons visiting. There is more than enough parking always. The area is lovely but worth mentioning is that you are next to the fairly busy A5 so traffic noise can be heard but with our windows open it was not a bother even at night. Do bare that in mind when booking. Mobile reception on Three was perfect based on feedback Vodafone does not work, not sure about other networks. In each room there is a binder with details for local gp and other services etc. Very thoughtful. So to end, we had a very positive stay and I can't see a reason why you won't unless you expect £500 holidays for £50.

Your review is lovely thankyou. We do get a lot of compliments on our friendly and helpful staff and our food. We are not a modern hotel and only 2 star. Any deals we put on are the list of rooms that we have left to sell on any particular date. We are sorry for any confusion. We welcome your next visit

Stayed here Saturday evening as a last min stay.
We rang and booked the room lady on the other end was very accommodating and pleasant.
Room was very warm and cosy. The pub was very nice and although we didn’t eat in the bar and our little man did the pasta was delicious, always service with a smile when buying drinks. Breakfast was disappointing as tho it was warmed up in the microwave. But still edible we have had worse and paid more!! The dining room is in need of updating but is clean. Location is beautiful as the waterfalls is just across the way and when you step outside you can hear them which automatically gives you a sense of calmness!! Overall it is a nice hotel and staff are welcoming. Would stay again.

A little disappointed really. Greeted a lady whom was a little frosty to begin with. But she did mellow. Although states pet friendly- you need to inform them on booking as they only have 2 (pet friendly rooms) even though we supplied our own dogs food & bed it’s still an extra £10 per dog (I know that seems standard all over but no idea why) ??

Room No 28 sadly had a lingering odour of either smelly feet or cigarette smoke trying to be disguised by a clean .. I have a very sensitive nose anyway . I think that the carpet is in need of a good steam clean

Sheets were clean and I always take my own pillow. Bed was ok comfy wise

The dressing table or desk or was it a coffee station was a challenge as the mirror was about a foot away and stuck under the TV . Design fault ‍♀️‍♀️ or did a man think about that one !!!!

The Tavern for breakfast was like walking back in time . Coffee was really poor. The girls were friendly. Breakfast was hot and tasty though

To conclude would I visit again No, would I recommend probably not . Swallow Falls needs a huge amounting money spending on it to make it bright, modern and inviting. Plus to bring into the 21st century. I wish I had the money ££££££.

I am sorry this is so negative Trip Advisor review but no point in not being honest. If we don’t tell you then you don’t know..

Thankyou for your review. We do need to know if you are bringing pets as we only have 2dog friendly rooms on site. Sorry if you felt the room smelt and we will look into this. Each to their own re decor etc...the majority of our guests like the atmosphere of those rooms and keep getting asked for them. There are not many dog friendly hotels in the area. We like to keep the Victorian atmosphere for our guests. Our carpets have recently been steam cleaned.

Stopped over as part of our Brit Stop membership in our campervan. They have a massive car park so multiple campervans/motorhomes can stay on the same night. They also have electric hook up (£15 per night) if you need it. With having the campsite there was also access to 24 hour toilets and showers so it is one of the better Brit Stops for facilities. Food in the bar was lovely too and our dogs were welcome in the bar. We had a great evening and enjoyed Walks nearby. Great place to visit.
