The Menai Bank Hotel was perfect!
The room was comfortable, clean and had the most amazing view. Near to shops, pubs and the beach. The owner Patrick was helpful and polite. Thank you for a lovely stay, we will be back x

Room ok although on the second floor . Room was changes as I requested a bath . Plenty of hot water . Poor tv signal and choice of channels. You had to pay for internet . Helpful proprietor. Didn’t pay extra for the continental breakfast .

I read somewhere else that the TV signal wasn't right in that room. The aerial guy has been told and I'm sure he will have it resolved before that room is let again :-)
Don't be shy! Let Reception know about these type of issues. Regarding the choice of TV channels it was just a matter of re-tuning the TV. Previous customers had obviously "messed about" with them and deleted loads!! It happens. Reception would not necessarily be aware unless informed.
TIP: Book direct ...then we can usually (subject to availability) change room types more easily when you are checking in,- and the Self service Light Continental style Buffet breakfast is included.

Patrick was a gracious host. I managed to book his last available room for myself and hubby, which was located on the top floor of the house. Beds were clean and comfy. Fabulous view of the sunset. An easy walk into town. If you are looking to eat out on a Friday night you would be well advised to make a reservation, we didn't and had trouble finding somewhere to eat. Lovely continental breakfast with lots of cereal and hot toast, which suited me as I was up for the Marathon.

After the race, a climb up 2 flights of stairs was not too bad. A piping hot shower restores me and we again walked into time doe a lovely Italian meal (having pre-booked!). A nice nightcap and chat with Patrick in his bar, was a geear end to a superb weekend.

Room Tip: Ask for a room on the ground floor if you have a problem with stairs

A great place if you just want somewhere clean and reasonably priced to stay after enjoying a night on the town. Huge, comfortable bed We didn't have the breakfast - optional extra.Would be possible to walk form town centre but we took a taxi which was very reasonable. Caution - if you have a large car - the hotel's own car park is a bit small and spaces tight.

Room Tip: Room three was large and with a view of the Menai.

Glad you enjoyed your stay.
CAR PARKING TIP: Stop at the front door when you arrive. Register first and then we will show you which is the best car space for your car or van depending on size. No charge :-)
Thank you for your review.
PS. I was in a large supermarket car park this morning and the car parking spaces were tighter!!!

I suppose ok is ok! However it's difficult to know how to respond sometimes to some observations. e.g. here...about the radiator? It was I recall mentioned once before. Since then I try always to point out to anyone upon checking into that room (and I did so on this occasion) that the heater is a high tech (Expensive!!) one with remote control so that you the customer can select the room temperature that's desired. So far no one has said it doesn't do that. We have tested it ourselves on some of the coldest days in Winter and it maintains the room temperature selected better than the old radiator it replaced. You are correct about no cooked breakfast,- since start of 2017 we no longer do one.. You are not quite correct about the buffet Breakfast details as you did not have it. £7 yes.
If you had had the Breakfast you could have had Starters, with Juices,Cereals, a(choice usually of five or six), together with fruit, Toast, Choices of Cappuccino, Latte, Espresso, freshly ground Italian Medium Roast Coffee with FREE repeats. Tea drinkers have a choice of teas as well quite a range of herbal teas. Lots little extras include Marmite ,Vegemite for our Australian visitors,Local Honey, as well as usual jams and marmalade...except that they are homemade here on the premises. This breakfast has proved to be very popular especially this year and vast majority of comments have been on the lines of "We've had so many cooked breakfasts on our tour around UK we're delighted to finally be able to have a light buffet self service choice". It's even better value when it's included in the room rate,- which it is when booked direct!
Morrisons is good value too but you pay for every item and when you add the cost of say two cups of coffee, plus all the above it comes to a lot more than £3 there! I know...I sometimes eat there too :-)
Back to the hot water issue. It's been mentioned before. There is plenty of hot water. This is a large Victorian building and the hot water has to travel a little further than in a modern hotel...so a few minutes patience is required. Once it arrives there is no shortage of it! We also realise that at this time of year the hotel as you put it can look "tired". But rest assured after it's Winter break it be rejuvenated by Spring. At £65 for a King room with Seaview including Breakfast I know from the majority of reviews and our large volume of regular customers that this represent great value when compared with any other hotel locally.
Even our Bar prices compare with that famous chain of pubs :-)
Bearing in mind the above please compare "like with like" when writing a review.
Thanks however for taking time to review us and let's hope I've given you food for thought and that we will see you again.
