I stumbled upon this 16th century gem after my original choice couldn't accommodate me, my husband and my six month old son and I was so glad I did. From start to finish, our stay with Pam and David was a fabulous experience. Nothing was too much trouble for this hospitable couple and Pam bent over backwards to make us feel like we were both at home and on holiday - quite a feat with a little person in tow.
The house is exquisite and delightfully quirky and we soon learnt to 'duck' on our way up to the wonderful, spacious but cosy family room, while cakes to welcome us in the bedroom and the port, chocolates and Baileys in the front room were a really nice touch.
But the real highlight was Pam's breakfasts - simply the best breakfasts we've ever had away from home. Homemade tropical smoothies, berry compote, breads and muesli bars, and then a cooked breakfast, almost entirely from local produce, that was so good it made me think it couldn't possibly be unhealthy - and all delivered with Pam's winning manner that makes you realise that when hospitality is done well, it is unforgettable. Thank you Pam, David and Zulu for a wonderful few days. More
