“Perfect chill”
Reviewed 21 July 2018 for a stay in July 2018

This is the second time we have stayed here and again the cottage was faultless. As mentioned in many reviews, nice touches such as wine, chocolates, breakfast items etc are very much appreciated. It was spotlessly clean too.
The round bath is my personal favourite and added to the relaxing, peaceful break. We even enjoyed the church bell practice on a Thursday evening!.
Braunston itself it a very pretty village and the community cafe does a very nice piece of cake!
Overall, we had a lovely time and will be back again no doubt.

“Outstanding cottage in every respect.”
Reviewed 13 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

From the moment Sandie ushered you in and you saw the beautifully presented table with a bottle of wine and pack of chocolates we knew we were in for a treat. Never been in a cottage where so much was provided to get you off to a good start, bread, milk butter, eggs, fresh orange juice, cornflakes, both ground coffee and coffee granules. Olive oil and balsamic vinegar if we fancied cooking. Even a bowl full of toffees in the sitting room. A shower down stairs and a huge round bath upstairs. Fluffy dressing gowns for after using it. Even a television which rises out of the bed. All the equipment first class and all pristinely clean. Outside a large, attractive garden with a covered area and barbecue and an indoor hot tub. If you want to. Venture from these wonderful surroundings the nearby Old Plough offers you a friendly welcome from both staff and customers and decent beer and food. A bit further in the other direction is the Boat House where a very reasonably priced meal can be enjoyed whilst watching the comings and goings on the canal. Also next to the canal is the Gongoozler's Rest, a barge serving up as good a breakfast as you will find. And excellent reasonably priced snacks and drinks in a lovely setting.
All in all an idyllic few days in a beautiful cottage.
Our only regret was we weren't staying longer.

Reviewed 12 February 2018 for a stay in February 2018

Just returned from a weekend at mill cottage, our 2nd time here. Loved it again. Weather wasn't great so spent most of our time inside. Cottage was spotlessly clean and lovely and warm. Made good use of the hot tub which was awesome. The little touches were appreciated, flowers, chocolates, wine, milk, bread etc. All of it allowed 2 very tired and stressed people to unwind and appreciate each other again. Thank you, we will definitely come back for a third visit as still not use the big round bath! The hot tub was just too tempting.

“Lovely romatic Cottage for Couples”
Reviewed 18 October 2017 for a stay in September 2017

We loved our 3 night stay at the Mill Cottage, a lovely property with the wow factor. We were met by the owner Sandie who was very welcoming and provided us with a welcome pack including wine, chocolates, biscuits, eggs, etc. Attention to detail is the name of the game with this property and it made for a lovely weekend. The main reason we booked it was for the hot tub and we were not disappointed and used it twice a day. Netflix on the TV was a bonus and great for movie watching in the evenings. Braunston itself is a lovely village, the main attraction for us being walks along the canal and exploring the marina. We went to the Admiral Nelson pub twice, once for an afternoon beer sat by the canal and then again for a very nice (but a bit pricey) evening meal. The pub can be reached via a pleasant walk along the towpath or also through the village. We also had a lovely cooked breakfast twice on the Gongoozlers Cafe Boat which is moored just outside the marina. We recommend this property and would love to return in the future. Sandie also gave us a guided tour of the Mill next door and again this is a stunning property and we definately consider booking this in the future for a family break.

“Lovely Romantic Retreat”
Reviewed 23 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Just returned from a Monday to Friday stay at this lovely cottage set in the quiet pretty village of Braunston. The owner Sandie agreed to our early entry to the cottage and showed us around. She has taken great effort to ensure that all the essentials (and some nice treats) are available for guests arriving. The hot tub was a real bonus and nice for the end of the day to relax after a busy day of sightseeing.

Braunston is a village set on the connection between the Grand Union and Oxford Canals with a lovely Marina and pleasant walks along the canals. The Admiral Nelson is 15 minutes walk from the cottage and set on the canal bank. Serves tasty gourmet burgers and lovely mussels. Further along the canal is the Boathouse pub which serves typical chain food at a reasonable price. Nice setting though especially on a nice day.

Places to visit from the cottage include Warwick Castle. Really nice setting with lots to see. Price is £27 per person. Can get cheaper rates on line. Parking extra at £10 which is very expensive. There is a car park in the town within walking distance which is worth checking out as this may be cheaper. I would also take your own food as it's expensive inside.

Stratford is also nice to visit nearby. All the usual Shakespeare sites to visit and a nice walk around the canal area.

Would definitely recommend this property.

Sandie thanks for a great stay..

Best wishes to you too
