Owner description: The Parlour at Blagdon is situated within the Blagdon Estate, just a stone's throw from Northumberlandia. We offer idyllic, rustic and rural surroundings for a delicious meal or drinks within Poppy's Tea Room; a beautiful Grade 2 listed building formerly used as a Smithy. Whether it's a warm summer afternoon or a crisp winter morning we have food and drinks to suit every occasion ranging from cakes & traybakes, snacks & platters to light lunches. You can also enjoy either a pot of tea next to our log burning stove or a glass of wine in the Garden Room. Our food is traditional fayre with an Italian feel and is freshly made to order. Additionally, The Parlour is home of Marcantonio's Ice Cream, all manufactured on-site and based upon the award-winning recipe originally created over 100 years ago in Picinisco, Italy. We also offer a wide range of specialty plants and imaginative gifts. Our younger visitors can explore our outdoor play area whilst you sit back and relax. Well behaved pets are always welcome within our grounds and we are just 1 mile from the A1 Seaton Burn roundabout with ample car parking available on site. The Parlour at Blagdon: a destination with a difference.

Had afternoon tea here and didn't live up to expectations.Staff were lovely and attentive and surroundings very pleasant.
We had the choice from a few different sandwich fillings but when the food arrived it was basically two plates of cakes and two tiny sandwiches each. All that said the food was tasty enough but we couldn't eat the cakes and felt there should be less cake and more sandwiches
I doubt for the cost that we would come back

If you're after a rustic Afternoon Tea then come here. If you're after a fine Afternoon Tea then don't. We enjoyed it but it was more like a picnic on a stand than anything else. However, as we love picnics, we enjoyed every mouthful. Don't think I'll book another Afternoon Tea but I will definitely come back for tea and cake.

I went with my wife on our anniversary as thought it would be something different.

The restaurant was small and intimate and does not have many tablets. We had a lovely evening and food was good.

A little strange seeing staff disappear out of the back door to collect the food from whenever the kitchen was located although it was quirky and added to the charm.

I would highly recommend

Visited on Friday, hadn’t booked but that wasn’t a problem for the staff who found us a table. Had afternoon tea for two, food was lovely, staff were friendly and couldn’t do enough to make a pleasant visit, even though it was busy. Staff very polite about the service charge and explained when they brought the bill. Will be back

Called in today whilst we were up in the area as we had heard good thing about this place. We hadn’t booked but a lovely lady found us a table and looked after us the whole time. We made special requests for our food and Ashley did her utmost to make sure our visit was perfect. Nothing was too much trouble!
Would definitely recommend for anyone in the area.
