There are some wonderful buildings along Quayside, one of the most famous is Neptune House.
Constructed between 1878 -1880 from designs from architect A.M Fowler ,this Grade II Listed building was originally part of the old fish market ,its now a music venue / bar called The Riverside.
One of the most notable features of Neptune House is the statue of Neptune and his fishwives on the roof of the building, a wonderful well detailed statue sculpured by sculptor George Burns ,this is a fantastic building, an historically important building and is most definitely well worth checking out if you're walking down Quayside.
