We just stayed for one night when my daughter was moving houses for uni, Got a warm welcome from the owner and stayed in room 6 with a corner bay window, we would go back.it was overlooking the cricket ground and a leafy location

Room Tip: Room six was very spacious

Had a great weekend in Newcastle staying at The Avenue. Steve was a lovely host. Very friendly and accommodating. He made a lovely breakfast and was always ready with a smile if ever we needed anything. I would definitely return

We couldn't have asked for a better place to stay on our recent trip to Newcastle. Steve was an amazing host, from the moment we arrived until the morning we left nothing was too much trouble.

There is ample parking outside and Steve provided us with a permit which only costs a pound per day.
They have an excellent taxi service that they use for trips into the main town which was only a short journey away and cheap too.

The hotel beds were comfy, the shower nice and powerful and nice and hot.
The breakfast was so good too...Steve makes THE best scrambled eggs.

Would definitely visit again - good location, great staff and amazing cost overall.

Thank you to the staff at The Avenue for a great fist trip to Newcastle! :)

This is a good standard guest house with very clean rooms, excellent hosts(very understanding of our American ability to overpack ) and wonderful breakfast. It is just a very short walk to some awesome delectable restaurants for dinner (highly recommend the Italian restaurant which starts with an "A"). Great place for an overnight stay at the beginning or end of your Hadrian's wall hike

Incredibly friendly and kind staff who made us feel very welcome. We stayed for two nights over the weekend and had a pleasant stay - comfortable room, very peaceful location and close to the centre as well as Jesmond Dene park. Lovely vegetarian breakfast each morning, and nothing was too much trouble. We were very satisfied and would definitely stay again - we really appreciated the excellent customer service - thank you!
