We came here to have a couple of drinks and a meal on our last day of being in Newcastle. The food was okay but the chicken was slightly burnt but it was mainly the staff working there that let the night down. The women staff stood around talking when we wanted to order food and eventually one of them came over after we had finished eating our starters it took them ages to clear the food which one of the male staff cleared away and then we waited a while of our mains. However the women staff disappeared for a long time which meant that one of the two male staff had to sort everything out. When we wanted to pay we was given our bill but again waited ages for someone to come over so that we could pay which in the end we had to pay at the bar which we should not of had too but we got sick of waiting. Therefore, we have given the slug and lettuce a two star rating as we have been to the other restaurants of this chain and they are much better and have better service.

Party of three out for a meal before attending theatre.
Staff and cleanliness very good but was spoilt by the food.
Portions really small...
Starter was cold and two of the three mains were so overcooked they were inedible.
Needless to say I won't be going back or recommending!!!

Went to Slug & Lettuce by chance and had a fab time. We discovered all cocktails are two for one all the time which was a big bonus.

We choose a few nibbles - chilli salt chicken which was delicious, teriyaki chicken sticks - nice but wouldn’t choose the again and pulled bbq beef puffed rolls which were amazing.

Happy all round. Bar was busy but not too busy. Toilets clean, staff happy and friendly
