For a pub, the food was quite good! The usual choice of pub food plus strange selection of tapas. I would recommend the fish and chips but would not recommend the sleeping accommodation. Our room was grubby, there was no shower over a grubby bath, the radiators gurgled all night and it was far too hot and stuffy. I guess it’s not a hotel but more of a pub and therefore the food is probably worth sampling but find somewhere else to sleep if your expectations are focused on a hotel, not a pub.

We arrived at The Bull and were greeted by a very friendly lady who showed us to our suite on the top floor. Yes, the stairs are steep and wonky, but it's a very old building. The room itself was quite shabby. A stained sofa (I assume this addition makes the room a suite?), mis-matched furniture and a huge four poster bed. The room was clean but very tired. Old, dark wallpaper which was peeling in places made it look like it needed some TLC. The large bathroom was really disappointing. ..no shower, not even a tap attachment to wash your hair...although shampoo and shower gel are provided. Several tiles had come loose from the wall and again it felt unloved. I understand the owners are refurbishing the rooms and we tried to move rooms but the hotel was full. The bed was very comfy and we slept well.
The ground floor area of the hotel is nice and cosy and the staff are warm and welcoming.
Breakfast was really nice after a lengthy wait...the dining room was full and the lone waitress overrun. It appeared that a large family who were staying at the hotel knew the waitress and a few of them who arrived in the dining room after us got served first! There was plenty of tea, coffee, juice and toast. The cooked breakfast was delicious and more than enough.
We liked Woodbridge, it's quaint with plenty of pubs, shops and eateries. The Bull sits in an ideal position in the centre, it's just a bit odd.

Stayed here last night 20:00. Arrived after a 450 mile drive from Edinburgh. Food not available so went to local Restuarant which was ok. Arrived back at 22:15 and hotel all locked up lights out. We were not advised that there was no night staff and or the possibility to get a night cap before bed, fortunately we worked out that our room key also fitted a door from the car park but again no one mentioned it when we checked in or when we went out for our supper, rooms clean but very very tired, carpet old and fairly grubby, plumbing in the bathrooms been fitted by an amateur and extremely basic. Breakfast was ok but minimal eg full cooked consisted of one egg, one rasher of bacon and one sausage so you don’t need a big plate. At £75 each for B&B in early January, bit expensive

Room Tip: Look for some other hotel would be my advice

I do apologise for the lack of communication by the member of staff on duty during your recent visit. Our restaurant is open from 6 to 9.30pm Monday to Saturday and 12 noon till 6pm on Sunday but the bar should have been open on your return. This matter has been taken up with the relevant staff and also the matter of not providing you with information regarding room keys, etc. We are currently undergoing a refurbishment programme which we hope to complete by the summer and, again, I apologise for any inconvenience experienced in the meantime. Guests are welcome to help themselves to as much fruit, yoghurt, cereals, fruit juice, coffee/tea and toast/preserves as they wish in addition to their order for cooked breakfast, which consists of egg, bacon, sausage, tomato, mushrooms, beans and hash browns and our chef cooks to order the items requested by the guest. I am sorry we did not meet the required standards on this occasion but assure you that we always strive to improve guest experience and the feedback we receive is always helpful in this respect.

We had a great night at the Bull Inn, Woodbridge on Friday night. We had a delicious three course meal in their lovely recently re-furbished dining room and then thoroughly enjoyed the Beatles duo. The best night out we've had for a long time!

Room Tip: Room one on the first floor is one of the best

Went to the Bull Hotel last night just for a drink and to listen to an advertised Elvis/NDiamond tribute singer who gave a full 2 hour set, and got the whole room dancing. Good evening till the owner?/manager came to the singer after the end of his final song, (and with bar takings complete), and refused to pay the him for his efforts, saying that the singer had included a few songs from other performers (actually by request from a couple of the punters) and the manager hadn't got what he'd expected. OK to be fair it is possible the manager might have reasonably expected him to dress up as Elvis too, which the singer hadn't, but, if so, the time to tell him that would have been at the start, not after he finished. The fact that all the customers were happy, and said so,wasn't important to him. How can top management can treat someone so shabbily, and if this is typical of the top management's attitude to customers' opinions, I'm not surprised at the number of poor reviews the Hotel has had.

What the reviewer may not be aware of is that drinks were ordered by the singer and his friends during his performance, the bill for which was to be settled at the end of the evening but did not happen and this had to be taken into consideration by the manager. Music is a regular feature at The Bull with singers returning frequently, all of whom have received full payment for performances carried out as advertised which, as you state, did not happen on this occasion.
