“Great location, very friendly and helpful hosts in a tranquil setting.”
Reviewed 2 August 2014 for a stay in July 2014

We would thoroughly recommend this cottage to anyone visiting the area. The pictures don't do it justice - the location is very peaceful, the cottage very well kept with all amenities you could need and the hosts were very helpful and friendly (even bought our washing in off the line when it was raining and we were out!).

We stayed with our children from 6 to 14 years old and the accomodation was ideal for them and much to their liking, and also very conveniently located for a visit to Alton Towers.

We would definitely recommend and would stay again! 5 out of 5 all round!!

“Hidden gem near Alton towers”
Reviewed 20 July 2014 for a stay in July 2014

Superbly laid out cottage that was easy to find off the A52 ,Beths directions that she sent were spot on. We found the cottages to be centrally located and made visiting local attractions easy (Alton Towers) being the main reason for the visit
.The level of cleanliness was exceptional,a superb welcome pack of bread ,local eggs and milk was greatly appreciated .
The cottages upper bedroom area was ideal consisting of two very comfortable couches , a tv and two single beds with two teenagers claiming that area as theirs .
Beth Plant the owner was warm ,welcoming making the Summerhill Cottage experience superb.
Would we all go back ?

“Home From Home”
Reviewed 8 February 2014 for a stay in September 2013

Chestnut Cottage is one of two cottages in the grounds of Little Summerhill Farm about a mile off the main A52 road between Stoke on Trent and Cheadle. It is very homely and the farmer and his wife are very helpful and provide eggs and bacon for your arrival, the cottages are at the side of the farmyard and the usual farm activities can be seen from the windows and split door, chickens reside at the rear and children will find it all fascinating as will their parents, the owners go out of their way to ensure you have an enjoyable stay, wi-fi is available and we found it adequate for our needs. We stayed for a couple of nights to attend a family wedding at nearby Consall Hall. It is also very handy for all the Potteries towns and the Peak District and especially Alton Towers which is just a few miles away. I understand a third cottage is being prepared next door.
