Description: Tagine Zhor is an authentic Moroccan restaurant run by the Casablancan Moroccan born owner. He takes pride in his Fez cuisine because it is based on traditional recipes that have been passed down from his loving Fez born grandmother "zhor" to him. It is the only finest Moroccan restaurant in Bath and probably in the whole South West of England. The perfect place to experience real Moroccan food cooked and served in a distinctive and traditional manner together with genuine warm hospitality in absolute beautiful Moroccan surroundings. Most meals begin with the simple selection of hot and cold mezze which might include hommos, Olives and Baba Ghannouj served with flat bread. The Tagine may come next served with Cous Cous, rice or Bread. It is a stew made of lamb, Chicken, Fish, Beef, kofta and Basilla. A single plate of dessert will usually consist of baklawas . They are sweet pastries dripping in honey or dusted in icing sugar marks the end of the meal before fresh mint tea or Arabic coffee are served. Do not forget to take a seat on outdoor terrace and enjoy the Shisha pipe and its flavour of tobacco. Also pay a visit to our gem Bazaar Shop downstairs featuring beautiful and unique handmade Moroccan items "great idea for gifts"

Nice tasting food if pre pared to wait over two hours for meals. Do not know if manager was away on this occasion but felt sorry for the lone waiter serving a near full restaurant by himself- he was run ragged. Shop and toilets downstairs very strange layout. Couple of cooks seemed to be just wandering near bottom of stairs which was odd. Some food also came out cold when meant to be hot. Bit disappointing.

Had a great meal here for my friend’s birthday on Saturday. The waiting staff were attentive and the owner gave us lots of advice and information to help us make our menu choices. They made a fuss for my friend too which was great - sometimes you ask restaurants and they simply ignore the fact you told them it was a birthday. We will be back, it was a wonderful and authentic dining experience :-)

While visiting Bath we fancied something a little different and not a chain restaurant. Wow we loved this gem. The menu was extensive with loads of options to try and the waiters were really helpful and knowledgable in offering advice on the best things to try.
We loved the mezze starter which enabled us to try many things we hadn’t before. All the food was really flavoursome and we left completely stuffed but happy! Thank you

The rest of the family had a variety of tagines. Being not quite as hungry, I went for a mixed skewer platter. I should have paid more attention to the name of the restaurant -- all the tagines were excellent, and my skewers were merely good.

We paid over £60 for 1 very small starter between 2, 1 bottle of beer each and 1 main each. My vegetable tagine was so bland it tasted like water. My parter said his chicken was tasteless.
