My husband and I stayed at Francis hotel Bath in July for 4 nights with our grandson. The stay was perfect, our room was very clean and roomy, the staff could not do enough for us. The restaurant food was very good.. we would definitely stay there again

This hotel has been renovated since we last visited and is now stylish, although the brasserie where you have breakfast is a bit scruffy- the chairs in particular. The room was very comfortable and quiet apart from the noise of seagulls very early in the morning so you couldn't open the window. Who knew Bath has a problem with them! There is aircon though we don't like sleeping with it on.The shower in the bathroom was unfortunately dangerous with a very slippery shower tray and no grab rails.Due to the proximity of the shower to the toilet, this made it difficult to get out of the shower without avoiding an accident.Someone elderly could have a nasty fall.We mentioned this to reception and was told that the lack of grab rails was something to do with planning which is a bit unlikely.Just bad design. We asked for a mat which was not forthcoming. We mentioned all this when leaving to a senior member of staff who indicated that the problem would be addressed.
The breakfast was good on the Saturday and Sunday mornings but not as good on Monday morning. We wondered if it was because the hotel had been very busy but was told no, so must have been a different chef.

Dear Rosalind C

Thanks you for your review and approval of the refurbishment

Sorry if you felt unsafe in the shower, and rather disappointed that the shower mat was not received. To re-assure you the shower trays that are in place are non-slip and do not require mats, however you should have been supplied with one if requested.
We have addressed the lack of hand rails with senior management and this is an aspect we will look to improve. At the risk of tempting fate I am glad to note that we have not had any accidents in the bathrooms.
Baffled about breakfast, and will investigate to understand the shortfalls, but glad that you had a good experience on 2 mornings

I do hope that we get the chance to welcome you back, maybe in the winter once the seagulls have quietened down

Kindest Regards
Pash Naidoo

We arrived in the city minutes before our tickets for a matinee play at Bath Theatre Royal, just around the corner. Left our bag with the concierge and when we returned to check in later that evening the bag had already been taken to our room. We booked with ‘secret escapes’ so there was a bottle of wine waiting for us and we got an upgrade to a superior. Really pleased with the room, which was on the first floor and had 3 windows, the corner aspect of Queen Sq and Barton St. Plus I always love it when you find an nespresso coffee machine in the room. Complimentary bottled water. Breakfast was included and we were delighted to find it was served in Brasserie Blanc within the hotel, we both went for eggs - hollandaise and Benedict off of the menu but could also help ourselves from the breakfast buffet to top up. Great people here, we had a fab 24 hours in Bath!

Dear Kate W,

Thank you for your wonderful review, I am so happy to read we were able to make your arrive to the city as easy as possible and you made it to the play on time.

Room 124, I have to agree is a lovely room with the double aspect windows and the lovely view across Queens Square.

I have passed your lovely comments to the Brasserie Blanc team, I am sure they will be delighted to read your comments.

We hope to welcome you back very soon to enjoy another 24 hrs (or more) here in Bath.

Kindest regards
Pash Naidoo

We booked this hotel for its location. Behind the hotel there is a car park. In front of the hotel at the right hand site you can find the hopon-hopoff bus stop.
We travel to france a lot and Always book "accor-hotels". I don't know if it is typical English but when we went for breakfast and past by the reception, the girl at the reception didn't say "goodmorning". This could have made the difference between very good and excellent.

Dear Christophe B,

Thank you for your lovely review.

We are lucky enough to to have parking, as many of the city centre hotel's are unable to offer this.

I have discussed with Reception Manager about the receptionist not acknowledging you in the morning, we have re-trained with the team as a welcome should always be extended. We are sorry this made the difference to your stay. We hope you welcome you back very soon, and hope to show you this is not our normal standard.

Kindest regards

We visited Bath for a weekend. My wife chose somewhere which was central and made it easy to access all the nearby attractions. I was impressed with the hotel. It was very smart. It was also a lot bigger than it appeared. It does have a small car park at the back. The room was large and made for a comfortable stay. The breakfast was good with the normal selection of full English and some choices of pastries and cereal. The best part was certainly it's location in relation to the attractions. All of the attractions were within 5 to 10 minute walks and through built up shopping areas. This really made the trip a simple one with not having to mess around with driving in and parking each time.
Overall it is a very nice hotel with helpful members of staff. It is centrally located and the rooms are lovely. I would certainly recommend and would go back if we returned for a visit to Bath.
