Barn
Broomers Barn is a beautifully appointed single storey, wooden-clad barn located in a very pretty and peaceful setting. Full length bi-fold doors open up from the living space onto a private decked area and lawns with uninterrupted views over the surrounding countryside.
Situated at the south end of the village of Richard's Castle, approximately 3 miles from the gastronomic centre of Ludlow with its castle, the property offers easy access to lovely walks, the village church, pub and the ruins of an original Norman fortress.
Guests can sharpen their appetites by walking to the nearby village of Orleton (one mile away) and enjoy a meal at one of two village pubs, both offering food and local ales. Highly recommended for anyone looking for a peaceful countryside retreat. The setting for Broomers Barn is just beautiful, bettered only by the barn itself which is decorated and finished to the highest standard. Log fire, luxurious bath, big comfy bed, fully equiped kitchen - this place has it all! The weatherfor our long weekend away was grey and miserable but the barn was so cosy and warm.
Avril and Ian were so welcoming and really helped make us feel at home. We had a great time exploring everything the area has to offer - long walks, stunning views and the selection of pubs and resturants at nearby Ludlow. Already looking forward to the next visit!

Excellent location, very helpful hosts, couldn't improve
My wife and I stayed here 3 nights. House was spotlessly clean and very well furnished. The hosts, Ian and Avril, were very helpful but not intrusive and we had a very generous welcome pack. A lovely area for walking, the Boot Inn at Ortleton was great, we ate there every night. Would recommend Broomers Barn without hesitation.

Immaculate
The most cared for and best condition property we have ever stayed in. The way it is presented clearly reflects the care and attention to detail shown by Avril and Ian. We stayed over a cold, grey, post flood weekend but that didn't detract from our stay in this lovely part of the world. Juxta condictum reverta sumus.

So cosy
This place is wonderful. Fluffy rugs, candles, log fire. It's the definition of cosy/hygge. We shamelessly encouraged Avril and Ian's cat to move in with us. I want to go back asap.

Luxurious and immaculately clean
My husband and I stayed here for a week at the end of Feb 2019 and were absolutely overjoyed with the property.
Everything about it has been finished to the highest standard and is pure luxury.
The log burner was the icing on the cake as it made the property so cosy.
The owners are really lovely and friendly and on hand whenever we needed anything, which wasn’t often.
Thanks for a beautiful relaxing week.
Definitely recommend!

Fantastic relaxing stay in this beautiful cottage
We stayed over Easter, the cottage is conveniently located under 10min drive to Ludlow (it is worth considering taxis though as difficult to park in busy Ludlow) but yet in a nice quiet part of a village, with amazing views into the field of sheeps. The cottage is beautifully decorated, literally as beautiful as the pics on its website, with nice little touches everywhere ( welcoming hamper, vase of freshly cut flowers, outdoor blankets, sun lounges, lots of interesting books/magazines etc etc the list goes on) it just had great feel to it, instantly relaxing. Everything looks brand new. The hosts were fantastic and couldn't do more for us, very generous and friendly.
Would recommend it 100%.

Barn conversion with lovely countryside views
We regularly book with Rural Retreats as we find the quality of their accommodation is excellent and Broomers Barn was no exception. Situated 10 minutes from Ludlow on the owners property this barn conversion was tastefully decorated in a modern style. The lounge had stunning views over the countryside and on warmer days you can sit outside on the decking. Although for only two people the accommodation is very spacious and the bathroom has a bath and separate shower. The owner, Ian, met us on arrival and was most welcoming. Can thoroughly recommend for a visit to the Shropshire Hills region as most tourist spots are within 30 - 40 minutes.
