Pretty much the same as everyone else says...nice walks for different levels and different grades but NOT the place to exercise your dogs off the leads as there are hundreds of sheep roaming freely...

What a brilliant find. We lived in Grindleford nearly 20 years ago and only after we had moved away did we find out what a lovely place Padley gorge is for a relaxing afternoon. Each time we return to the area it is a must go.

we loved discovering Padley Gorge with it's ancient woodland and delicate stream surrounded by large rock boulders and the hidden millstone graveyard. went twice in a week whilst on holiday in the area. would avoid it on a weekend or during school holidays. but mid week when there were no kids about you can enjoy the peace of the place it was magical. got some amazing photos! there was also a big ant hill with some huge ants there!

We visited today and it's a nice place for a few short walks through the woods and farmland. Lots of animals about and all look very happy.

Cafe has a strong menu for those wanting something more substantial an plenty of picnic tables and seating for those that bring their sandwiches!
