We visited today and it's a nice place for a few short walks through the woods and farmland. Lots of animals about and all look very happy.

Cafe has a strong menu for those wanting something more substantial an plenty of picnic tables and seating for those that bring their sandwiches!

There are several routes for walks for all abilities. We took some good photos of 3 stags in a field close by. It seems to be a good place for bird spotters.

First time my wife and I have visited the Longshaw estate and we were not disappointed. As National Trust Members we got car parking for free of charge. We then visited the tea room/shop. Well stocked for gifts and the tea was lovely and reasonably priced. Had a sandwich which was less that £4 and it was lovely. We then went for one of the walks and followed the blue route. Excellently signposted, superb pathways and great scenery. We returned to the visitor centre and decided to do the orange walk, again superbly signposted. Excellently kept place and a must for people interested in countryside walks. There are a few pubs etched along the walk ways and the map shows exactly where these are. Will definitely be going back.

What a lovely place. Very relaxed. Animals openly grazing. Small cafe. Car parking reasonable, free if have a NT card. Kids loved the open space.

My teenage kids, husband and i had a great day out at Padley Gorge.
Walked though the woods near the moors first which is beautiful and prehistoric looking( a dinosaur wouldn't be out of place) then on to the moors where we ate our picnic on the rocks there.
Afterwards we crossed the bridge and the road and walked through the woods on the otherside.
By the time we had finished we were all tired but very happy.
A brilliant way to get the kids away from their phones and they all loved it:)
Recommended.
