“Like a well equipped tardis, wanted for nothing”
Reviewed 12 January 2015 for a stay in January 2015

We chose this cottage after reading previous reviews, so as to be with our extended family over from Australia and were a group of 6 adults + a baby. We were not disappointed and agree with all the positive reviews coming before. We all easily fitted in here comfortably and when the Seniors needed a quiet break, there was plenty of space at the other end of the long building. Besides all the well-known tourist spots in and around York, we also spent hours at the nearby Aircraft Museum, 10 mins drive away. To be recommended.

As a keen cyclist, I was able to get plenty of miles in on quiet country roads (mainly flat) to Helmsley in the N and Pocklington to the East.

I would highly recommend this property

“Great place to spend Christmas.”

We had a lovely stay, nothing was too much trouble for the owners. The cottage is very well equipped and in a perfect location for York.
Would definitely go back.

“Perfect family space close to York”

This is a perfect cottage for a family holiday close to york. Genuinely baby friendly with travel cot (+ real mattress), high chair and plenty of safe crawling space. Spotlessly clean. Very warm welcome from the owners who were really helpful through the week. We stayed in December and found the cottage decorated for Christmas including large tree and all the radios tuned to a Christmas music station. 15 mins drive into the centre of York. This is a safe bet for a family break or group of friends - we had guests to stay during the week.

“Fantastic Holiday Cottage - Look no further”

This is a wonderful cottage with fantastic amenities. It is located only a couple of minutes from the Park and Ride and City Centre, yet is in a beautiful rural location. The property is absolutely spotless and no attention to detail is missed. The owners are fantastic and even left a birthday present for our young daughter which was a truly wonderful thought. Would recommend this property to anyone wanting to stay in York, the property is deceptively large and comfortably housed 4 adults and 2 children. We will definitely be coming back ourselves.

Pear Tree Cottage is lovely place to stay. The cottage was spotless and very well equipped. We really enjoyed the space and our three children enjoyed playing games, reading the books and playing with the play mobile.
Michael and Suzanne were very helpful and friendly and provide us with fresh eggs and tea/coffee/cake from Bettys! There were lots of helpful tourist information leaflets to give you ideas for things to do and places to visit. The location itself was great for visiting York and easy to access park and ride facilities or use the local bus service to get straight to the heart of York. Overall we had a lovely holiday and would definitely like to visit again.
