I had stayed here with my daughter in September 2020 shortly after their reopening. We immediately fell in love with the very friendly efficient staff and excellent location.
After our recent visit after two postponements in June 2021 I felt exactly the same.
The very friendly staff made us both feel like VIP’s

Dear Alfiemike

We are so pleased that you got to visit us after our couple of postponements and I am equally pleased to read that the staff who made you feel so welcome on your first visit lived up to expectations once again in what has been a difficult time for those in hospitality and of course the nation as a whole.
Thank you for your five star review of the Dean Court Hotel and we look forward to another friendly welcome on visit number three.

Kind regards

The Staff went above & beyond to make our stay enjoyable. Valet parking, brilliant.
They even purchased Gluten Free Biscuits & left them in my room for me.
The location is perfect with a view a the Minster from our room.

This is a Best Western Premier hotel at Dean Court, York. We stayed for one night on 28 May 2021, arriving at 1pm before the official time for checking in. The friendly and helpful receptionist booked us in and our vehicle was taken to a secure parking area by a member of staff while we went out for the afternoon. You need to hand in your car keys and it is kept by the hotel once you park in their locked parking area - the vehicle is then brought round by staff when you require it. We had a wait of 20 minutes for our vehicle on departure. Our room was on the third floor, No. 36, a family room with a splendid view of the front of York Minster 75 metres from our window. A lift or stairs were available. The room was large with wide twin beds, with two club chairs and round coffee table plus a three-seater settee that could unfold into another bed. The beds were firm and comfortable. A wall mounted television in the room plus storage cupboards and wardrobe providing plenty of storage space. The room was clean, tidy, well decorated and well presented with attractive ceiling lights and a large en suite bathroom - a full length bath with shower over. A shower mat is provided along with complementary shower caps and shower gel and lotion in wall mounted dispensers. The staff were friendly and helpful. We did not dine at the hotel but instead chose to have our lunch and breakfast at Bennett's bistro/cafe which is only 50 metres from the hotel. There are nearby restaurants for an evening meal. The hotel is in the centre of the city and tourist attractions are within a reasonable walking distance. It is an ideal location for a first time visitor and our room was reasonably priced. We were very happy with the large size of the room and general appearance and cleanliness. We would certainly stay at Dean Court Hotel again when in York. Thank you - Jeanette and Patt from Gnosall, Staffordshire UK.

Dear TiggerLily26

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review after your stay at the end of May, I think you have given a comprehnsive overview of the room and hotel which I am sure will be appreciated by the tripadvisor public, room 36 is one of our family rooms and is a large and spacious room. As you have said we are ideally located close to so many restaurants and during these times whilst our restaurant remains closed for our usual full service, I dare say that is an advantage for our guests who are looking to dine close to the hotel, I am pleased to read your rating of five stars and all being well we will have the opportunity to welcome you back again in the future for another great stay.

Kind regards

Thanks to all the staff at the Dean Court for two days' very comfortable stay. We had two rooms looking out towards the Minter. They were small (the Dean Court calls them 'cosy') but well-prepared. The public areas of the hotel downstairs - dining room, bar and reception - are light and modern. We only had breakfast and light lunch there, and the evening provision seems limited at the moment, but the meals we had were very good. The corridors and hallways to the rooms are less well maintained, and the later room numbers have no lift access. The rooms are very warm, and opening the windows exposes the intending sleeper to York's night-time noise - intermittent celebrations, sirens and bin lorries as well as the Minter clock between 8 am and 10 pm. However, the location is the great advantage really - only a short walk from most of York's attractions. We had a very enjoyable stay, and with recovery from lockdown, services at the Dean Court should return further towards normal.

Dear mattcR7576VM

Thank you for reviewing your recent stay with us at the Dean Court Hotel. Our cosy rooms are smaller in comparison to some of the other bedrooms we have here but as you have said they are well prepared. Our restaurant does remain closed from serving the rosette standard of hot food we served pre-lockdown as we tentatively head towards recovering but a small selection of sandwiches are available throughout the day and I am pleased to hear that although limited it was still to a very good standard, it is very much our intention to re-open the restaurant this year, we are just sorry for any inconvenience this may cause, we have prepared a list of local restaurants for our guests which is available at the hotel and on our website and because of our great location this means they are all in close proximity and I hope this goes towards helping our guests arranging their evening meals until we have a more substantial offering.
Thank you again for your feedback and we hope to see you again in the future.

Kind regards

Steve Bailey
