“Nice Cosy Flat”
Reviewed 3 January 2018 for a stay in January 2018

Nice cosy flat about 5 minutes walk from the Centre of Whitby. At the top of a steep hill so your leg muscles get a work out but you can cut through Pannett Park which is a pretty walk.Friendly helpful owner and a view of the abbey from the bedroom window! Highly recommended.

“Within walking distance”
Reviewed 30 December 2017 for a stay in December 2017

A cosy well appointed apartment within walking distance of Whitby centre, but you and your pet need to be fit as it is up two flights of stairs to the apartment which sits on top of a hill, good for walking into town, not so good coming home lol.
Carol and her husband were most helpful and provided us with extra crockery etc as we were cooking Christmas dinner there. We were warm and toastie all Christmas, even with the draft coming through one of the Windows, ( it was very windy ).
All in all a good time was had by all.

“Good base for exploring”

Such a good place to stay in Whitby! And with a parking space! Situated just far enough for a gentle stroll down to the beach and the town and the double bedroom had the best view of the abbey in the morning.
Only negatives I would mention are that the mattresses are very very hard - fine if that's your preference but if not, you might struggle to sleep. Because it is an old house, the floorboards are very creaky so if you have neighbours upstairs you will hear every step (especially in the double bedroom).
Also - as much as we enjoyed our stay in the apartment which was equipped enough for those who aren't looking for a base to 'hole themselves up in', bear in mind that it is a flat and so your other neighbours may not be as considerate towards your holiday as you would hope.
Other than that, the flat itself is sufficient and very good value for money.

“A great little appartment in Whitby, an ideal base for all areas”
Reviewed 10 November 2016 for a stay in October 2016

A last minute decision for Goth weekend to ditch our camper in favour of a warm place to stay brought us to Scorsbys Nest. Carol was lovely to deal with, booked over the phone with no problems. As it is just as you come into Whitby you are well placed for the road into Scarborough, Sandsend , town , sainsburys, We did have to get a taxi one night from town as it was torrential rain and we had our three year old.. The apartment is lovely and very homely, all the things you need for a weekend stay, Microwave, dishwasher, kettle, toaster, fridge and freezer..Very warm and cosy.. could do with a DVD player if we were staying longer, lots of books to read and games too. Easy entry system.. would recommend to anyone.. We paid a premium for Goth weekend ( which is expected) but the usual rate would be good value

“Close to all your needs”
Reviewed 7 August 2016 for a stay in September 2015

There were three adults in our group who stayed here in September. The apartment is very nice and spacious , clean , a very short walk into the town centre { there is a steepish hill coming back up from town though. there is a bus stop at the top just a few doors from the place}.

There are two separate bedrooms, lounge room/kitchen, bathroom. The smaller bedroom is very small it has bunk beds and a wardrobe. Which is more for children than a adult as I found it's a little hard and cramped.

The Main bedroom is large with a double bed and wardrobe. Very sunny and spacious.

The Bathroom could do with a shelf in the shower though. you have to put your toiletries on the floor. But otherwise modern and clean.

I especially liked the dishwasher, microwave and large kitchen table. Which was nice having evening meals in the large bay windows.

The one downer we had was the noisy people on the higher floor which you can hear on the on creaky stairs at night in the small room, and some traffic from the main road.

There are some games, books and tourist info as well. Depending on what floor you stay on there will be stairs to climb.I also liked how easy it was to pick up the keys.

Other than that this apartment is very nice, clean, close to the town centre, bus station, tourist centre and steam train.
