Stayed here for the weekend of the challenge cup game at Wembley. Bus goes from outside the hotel straight to the stadium so really handy but also easy to walk - about 35 mins & we did this coming back. Hotel room was small but clean, comfy bed & well equipped with water & nice coffee machine. We were in Room 7 ground floor & it was a bit noisy during the night with other hotel guests coming & going & sound of TV in the room next door but to be expected in a small hotel.
We parked on Ealing station car park behind the hotel Saturday morning until Sunday lunch £3.90 so great for London & found a lovely little Italian right behind the hotel where we ate on the Saturday evening. All in all a nice stay.
The hotel itself has a small front - room for 4/5 cars only. Pictures on website is a bit deceiving & was full all the time we were there! Plenty parking behind the hotel.

Hotel 55 has everything you need to have a nice stay in London. After searching over and over online I came across this hotel. It is a small family like hotel with 3 floors. It's nice, clean and modern. The rooms aren't fancy but are modern and have everything you need to make your stay pleasant. Coffee machine, tea kettle, iron, hair dryer, ironing board, and refrigerator. They give you free water daily and teas. The room I stayed in was small but fine for the 3 of us. If you need a bigger room they are available. We booked the day before and didn't have other options. However, we were hardly at the hotel anyway. The reception was fantastic too. They were all young gentlemen and they were very attentive and a delight to help with whatever we needed. We booked our hotel online which includes a continental breakfast. The spread is great. Different juices, coffee, teas, yogurt, fresh cut fruit, toast, croissants, pastries and cereal. The dinning areas is quite nice looking out into a quiet garden. The hotel moreover has a great location. The metro is literally in your backyard... Right behind the hotel. A min walk if that. There is also a small store to buy any snacks if you want, a pharmacy, Indian restaurant, pub and Italian restaurant right by the metro. We ate once at the pub but preferred the Italian restaurant. Portions are huge so share. The best way to travel throughout London is buying an Oyster card and pay as you go. Kids are free. And older kids pay a cheaper fare but you have to have the metro workers set up the Oyster card for the older kids. Transportation to the hotel from gatwick is further then Heathrow which is a lot closer. From gatwick you can buy a day pass off peak that will cost around 13pounds and you can take the gatwick express from the airport to the Victoria metro station. You then catch the blue line toward ealing broadway to north ealing stop. It's super easy. Cabs can also be arranged from the hotel. It was 56 pounds for a taxi to Gatwick early in the morning. Anyways I hope this helps. Hotel 55 I give a 10 for location and hospitality. Also look into the London pass... Saved a ton for sightseeing.

Room tip: There are bigger rooms available

Beware , the Rooms are small, Very small. Staff is polite, but they cant help change the room.

The marketing was misleading, may lead you to think otherwise. This property is a old house which has been badly modernised.??Issue is that the description could be better. ?? I booked a family room as we had our 11 year old child , we were told family room is available. And that there is free parking.??When I reached there I realised the house ( sorry hotel ) oh !! Sorry the house .. had 4 parking bays for 28 guests..so I went hunting road side parking .??The family room was a small converted ATIC and the SO CALLED GARDEN view was a view of a half grass patch !! And yes while you can shuffle from point A to Point B in the room, in the bathroom you would be lucky to move you hand to brush your teeth.??The only saving grace, it was clean. ??And yes the continental cold breakfast was NOT arranged properly for humans and the flies that were tasting the food made me get up hungry.??So try at your risk.??One good thing worth mentioning though is that the staff was polite and smiling.

The breakfast was not impressive.

Our usual London haunt was booked out for last weekend so I googled "hotels close to Ealing Broadway" and up popped Hotel 55. The reviews were mainly very good so we took a chance and we are so glad we did. The hotel couldn't be in a better location for exploring London. North Ealing tube station is literally 2 minutes walk away. For all you theatre lovers, you can get straight into Leicester Square from there within approx 30 mins. Coming from Heathrow Airport, take the Picadilly Line tube to Acton Town and continue on the Picadilly Line to North Ealing (that line branches out but doesn't go directly to North Ealing). Ealing Broadway village is only 10 minutes walk away, where there are loads of shops and restaurants to check out. Now, back to the hotel! The hotel is spotless and is more than a 3 star to be honest. It's immaculate. Our room was small but had everything we needed. Bottled water and L'Occitane products are standard in the room so no need to drag bottles of shower gel and shampoo/conditioner with you as the stuff is lovely! The staff are very nice and friendly and happy to help/provide information about getting around London etc. We've already booked a trip back for October and can't wait! Many thanks Hotel 55 and see you soon!!! :)

After visiting London, our flight back home got cancelled and since the airline did not provide any help, we had find a place to stay 2 more days in the middle of the night. We called Hotel 55 because we had stayed in the same Area before and because its convenient location close to a Tube Station and London Heathrow Airport.
We arrived at the Hotel totally exhausted about 5am in the morning. The people there where extremely caring and helpful thru out our whole stay.
Since the Hotel is in a older Building, the rooms are not very big. But they are very nice, clean and equipped with everything one need.
Breakfest was of very good quality with a choice of fresh fruit, fresh bread, fresh juices and cereals.

The location of the hotel is a bit outside of London City. But it is close to a underground station, where the Tube takes you in the center of London or to Heathrow Airport within a couple of minutes.
Also the city of Ealing is worth to take a look at. Very nice Town, with lots to see, lots of restaurants and shops.

We like to thank the people of Hotel 55 for they're extraordinary service and recommend Hotel 55 to everyone that is looking for a Hotel a bit outside the buzz of the City.
