We stayed here for three days after a transatlantic cruise upon a blind recommendation. It was an excellent choice for sightseeing. The location is perfect. It is right next to the London Eye and within walking distance of many attractions, including Parliament, Churchill War Rooms, Westminister Abbey to name a few. We also walked to Buckingham Palace, Covent Gardens, Harrods and the British Museum (although these were farther, and we might have taken the ideally located underground if not for lovely weather)
The room was not fancy, but the price was good. There was only one desk chair, and otherwise just the bed, which was very comfortable. There was a kettle, and instant coffee in the room. My only complaint was the lack of washcloths (is this a British thing, or just a lower priced hotel thing?). Also, the only soap and shampoo were in those wall dispensers. I'm not a fan of those, so we just brought some along from the ship. The room was very quiet, and just right for us, as we only came there to sleep.
Our room had no view, but we did not bother asking for one, as we arrived at 10am and they had a room available, so we did not have to stow luggage for the day. That was really a bonus, and the staff was wonderful. They helped us with directions, extra pillows, ice (also apparently not a British thing for...We stayed here for three days after a transatlantic cruise upon a blind recommendation. They arranged transport to the airport for a better fare than we had found on our own, and were always friendly and available. The free wifi worked well, and was available throughout the hotel. We opted for the full breakfast, and it was served in a pleasant dining room with good food. That was a great way to start our long days of touring. All in all, we had a lovely stay, and I will be back!More
