Must see exhibition. Dont be put off by the “architecture” in the title. This show isn’t about architecture as much as it is about light and colour. Don’t think I can improve on the Guardian’s review, as in “Monet’s paintings of the gothic facade of Rouen Cathedral, painted in the early 1890s, are mind-stretching marvels. From a distance they look eerily like Victorian photographs, as if he was inspired by sepia postcards of this venerable monument. Go closer and the illusion crumbles in a matted, rough, abstract surface of wild colour”
