Must see exhibition. Dont be put off by the “architecture” in the title. This show isn’t about architecture as much as it is about light and colour. Don’t think I can improve on the Guardian’s review, as in “Monet’s paintings of the gothic facade of Rouen Cathedral, painted in the early 1890s, are mind-stretching marvels. From a distance they look eerily like Victorian photographs, as if he was inspired by sepia postcards of this venerable monument. Go closer and the illusion crumbles in a matted, rough, abstract surface of wild colour”

There are so many paintings to see at the National Gallery from both lesser-known and famous artists in several centuries. Seeing these portraits in person is quite the experience. Entry is free but they do recommend a donation of some sort. If you are visiting London, this museum will give you a nice break from reality by checking out thousands of beautiful paintings.

Not many places have 2300 pieces of art and a great place to view Van Gogh, Renoir, Monet and other famous pieces.

You will not be disappointed with this one

We called in at the spur of the moment whilst walking past Trafalger Square. The gallery is free, but there are staff inside who ask for voluntary donations.

Not being art lovers per say, we wanted to just have a glipse at what was on offer to see.
The building itself is fantastic and we were astonished at the actual size and number of rooms it had.

It was great to see that on entry you go through a scanner and can also have your bags checked.

The collection of paintings is enormous an well worth a look. The range of artists is very extensive.
As non art lovers it was well worth a visit, but the shear volume of paintings was too much for us to appreciate in one visit

A great rainy day attraction for anyone
