Trip with friends

On arrival greeted with a friendly face and a bonus upgrade being IHG member. Room was fairly small which we expect but to an excellent standard. Bed comfy, good coffee and tea facilities and good sized shower room/toilet. When we asked about late checkout we received this at no extra cost. ‘Only had breakfast 1 days and this was really good. Only downside when my partner used the downstairs toilet at night found it not the cleanest with a cockroach on the floor. Take that away and the hotel was faultless.

I recently had the pleasure of enjoying breakfast, and it was an absolute delight! The ambiance was charming, the service impeccable, and the food exquisite. From the freshly baked pastries to the perfectly cooked eggs, every bite was a culinary delight. I highly recommend to try if you are looking for a memorable breakfast experience in London.

I went to on busy Saturday morning for quick breakfast. Perfect location for London. Great atmosphere. Open breakfast buffet was amazing . You can find real Italian coffee and classic English breakfast. Will definitely recommend this place.

We loved this hotel -- the location so close to Paddington Station made it easy to get anywhere we wanted to go and the staff was friendly and very helpful. We encountered difficulties with our reservations because I inadvertently made them through a travel agent on a spoof site and we were greatly overcharged. In addition, our reservation for our last night in London was cancelled with no notice and the Hotel Indigo Paddington was fully booked. This happened around noon on our last full day in London when we had just returned from 2 nights in Bath and we now had nowhere to stay. The manager Rax Lucero truly went above and beyond -- he called all of his contacts trying to get us 2 rooms somewhere else, but everyone was fully booked. He finally managed to get us a reservation at a small hotel a short distance away; he negotiated a better price for us, and then to our shock he picked up some of our luggage and announced that he would walk us there. He explained to the manager of the new hotel, which was in an old Victorian townhouse without an elevator, that we had been victims of a scam and made sure that we received the price he had negotiated on the phone. He then grabbed our bags and helped carry them up the stairs to our rooms. We are so grateful that he saved the last day of our trip; instead of having to spend hours trying to find somewhere else, we were free to enjoy the rest of the day.

Paddington Station is a stop on the Elizabeth line, so we were able to easily travel to it on the Elizabeth line directly from Heathrow; the hotel is half a block from the station on a street filled with restaurants and small shops.

We had such a good experience with this hotel that we're planning to go back there in December to enjoy the holiday decorations and Christmas markets. We have stayed at numerous Hotel Indigo properties around London and Scotland. I've always booked directly through IHG and I'm really embarrassed that I was tricked into making our reservations through a sketchy travel agency. Always be sure when you're googling the name of a hotel that you don't automatically choose the first result -- make sure you're on the real website!

Dear Nanceyd906,

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Your feedback and opinion means a lot! A comfortable room with local decor is always a nice touch, and it's great to hear that you had an excellent sleep. Being centrally located near Paddington Station must have made exploring the city very convenient, especially with attractions like Hyde Park, Harrods, and the Natural History Museum within walking distance. I'm glad to hear that the front desk was welcoming and that you enjoyed a delicious and plentiful breakfast. If you ever return, it sounds like you already know some great spots to revisit!

My wife and I have been happy customers of Hotel Indigo Platinum for at least 12 years. I stay there at least once a year, sometimes on business, sometimes just to spend some time in London. The hotel has a great location, barely a block from Paddington station (and the Heathrow Express), in a lively neighbourhood that includes hotels but also full-time residents. It offers easy access to Hyde Park, Kensington, as well as Oxford Street, as well as great museums, libraries and sites of historic interest that are easy to get to on foot, by tube or on a taxi. Moreover, in our many stays, we have always found the staff to be welcoming, knowledgeable, polite and attentive to all sorts of requests. To be fair, some might find the rooms small, that is a universal attribute of big-city hotels. In the case of the Indigo Paddiington, they work well with their spaces, featuring clever layouts and well-designed facilities.

Our most recent visit, the first week of April, confirmed all of these qualities. We had reserved a room for four nights, for a quick visit to London before heading to a conference at Cambridge. However, on the third day, my wife came down with a set of alarming symptoms that called for a visit to a hospital emergency room. For assistance, I turned to the hotel staff, who proved *very* helpful, directing us to the nearest hospital and arranging for our transportation there. As it turned out, my wife's issues required a four-day stay, in the course of which, the hotel staff were very solicitous and supportive. Even during the busy first week of tourist season, they allowed me to keep our room, which was itself impressive, since we didn't know at the time how long my wife would be hospitalized. At a stressful time of daily uncertainty, the hotel personnel were supportive and highly professional. I can't say enough in their favour.

Thus, unsurprisingly, I will enthusiastically recommend the Indigo Paddington to friends and colleagues planning a London visit. While it isn't as fancy or lavish as the hotels most people think of when going to London, it is warm, comfortable, well-located and offers service that goes above and beyond the call of their duties. We're already looking forward to our next visit!

Room tip: Check out the pubs and restaurants in the area and take advantage of its location.
