My wife and I have been happy customers of Hotel Indigo Platinum for at least 12 years. I stay there at least once a year, sometimes on business, sometimes just to spend some time in London. The hotel has a great location, barely a block from Paddington station (and the Heathrow Express), in a lively neighbourhood that includes hotels but also full-time residents. It offers easy access to Hyde Park, Kensington, as well as Oxford Street, as well as great museums, libraries and sites of historic interest that are easy to get to on foot, by tube or on a taxi. Moreover, in our many stays, we have always found the staff to be welcoming, knowledgeable, polite and attentive to all sorts of requests. To be fair, some might find the rooms small, that is a universal attribute of big-city hotels. In the case of the Indigo Paddiington, they work well with their spaces, featuring clever layouts and well-designed facilities.
Our most recent visit, the first week of April, confirmed all of these qualities. We had reserved a room for four nights, for a quick visit to London before heading to a conference at Cambridge. However, on the third day, my wife came down with a set of alarming symptoms that called for a visit to a hospital emergency room. For assistance, I turned to the hotel staff, who proved *very* helpful, directing us to the nearest hospital and arranging for our transportation there. As it turned out, my wife's issues required a four-day stay, in the course of which, the hotel staff were very solicitous and supportive. Even during the busy first week of tourist season, they allowed me to keep our room, which was itself impressive, since we didn't know at the time how long my wife would be hospitalized. At a stressful time of daily uncertainty, the hotel personnel were supportive and highly professional. I can't say enough in their favour.
Thus, unsurprisingly, I will enthusiastically recommend the Indigo Paddington to friends and colleagues planning a London visit. While it isn't as fancy or lavish as the hotels most people think of when going to London, it is warm, comfortable, well-located and offers service that goes above and beyond the call of their duties. We're already looking forward to our next visit!
