Stayed over for one night en route for Yorkshire. The location is on the site of an old manor house and as such is away from the main traffic routes, but handy for the town as there is a bus service past the door.

Room Tip: Go to the smaller building it will be quieter than the main block

A really unique hotel, formerly University of Leicester Halls of Residence, but now a hotel & conference centre. Grade II listed 1960s buildings. Very impressive. Lots of large communal spaces, very clean smart and up to date. Rooms beautifully clean, smart and well equipped. The breakfast in the large Knighton Room could not be faulted. The down side - rooms, although very smart, well appointed and comfortable, are very small. Hotel advertised as having a restaurant, when we were there this weekend it was a bar, where you ordered your food at the bar and had the meal at tables in the bar area. The meal we had on Friday was fairly mediocre, seasoned fries were just plain chips, Beef and wine pie was barely warm and dry.Went for a meal again on Saturday night, but there was a wedding in the hotel, and the bar was so packed we could not get anywhere near to either order food or get a table. Reduced to going back to the room and crisps and biscuits! A superb unique building which deserves a better restaurant arrangement. Will not return unless better evening dining arrangements are provided.

Room Tip: Maybe Executive Rooms are larger, check size of rooms, ours was very nice, but probably no more than 3m x 2 m in the main room.

Dear Peter,

Thank you for your review following your recent stay with us at College Court. I am disappointed to hear that you did not enjoy your all aspects of your stay with us and please accept my apologies for this.

We offer three different types of bedroom: Standard, Executive and Suites, the latter two offering more space for those perhaps staying longer or wanting something a little bit bigger and all offering modern amenities to ensure a comfortable stay for all guests.

I'm sorry that due to a wedding taking place on the Saturday evening you were unable to order any food from our restaurant or bar, due to the high number of guests in there at the time. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your stay further, please do not hesitate to contact us at info@collegecourt.co.uk

We hope to be able to welcome you back to College Court on your next visit to Leicester.

We stayed here as part of a ofonference group,in August the room was clean and roomy with good state of decor, the restaurant food was good, bar area OK as were the staff it was nice to be able to go to our conference without having to travel from hotel to conference venue
The only problem for us was nothing the hotel could be blamed for but may like to redress in future is not all guests are respectful of others and as our room 101 was next to an outside door which banged most of the night after other guests left it ajar

We stayed for one night, guests at a party held at the centre. Lovely accommodation in a G2 listed building. Five minutes by taxi from train station.Bedroom stylish and very comfortable with fantastic power shower.Party held in beautiful venue and the food was fantastic. Well done catering team. We were treated to a top notch buffet with a Leiceter speciality of delightful curries. Breakfast was equally amazing with huge selection of choices..Reception staff very friendly and professional. We didn't have much time to see Leicester but what we did we loved. Easy walk into city centre via the beautiful Victoria Park and New Walk.Back up through the the bohemiene Queens Rd full of quirky shops and cafes to suit the student population.

This is a really good hotel I stay here on average one night a week. Check in is always quick and seamless and you are quite often given a choice of what floor etc. The building is an old University halls and is set in a quiet location away from any main roads.

The hotel offers free parking and free fast wifi suitable for streaming. Food wise the bar has a good selection of food which is always served in a timely manner. Breakfast is your typical buffet style with lots of choice.

If like me you just want to eat watch TV and sleep in the evening this hotel is ideal if you are one those people who like to stay up boozing all night there isn't much else around the hotel to keep you entertained.

Room Tip: Executive room is twice the size of standard.
