Used this travelodge when going to see Greg Davies at De Montfort Hall, as we don't live in Leicester me and my partner decided to have a night away and we couldn't have picked a better travelodge. Check in was nice and easy, the receptionist was friendly and chatty, they also told showed us the numbers of multiple taxi ranks in the city for when we needed to get back to the hotel later (£5 from the hall to the travelodge!). The room was spotless, encountered a little issue with the shower head but I let reception know on departure and the gent told me they would get it logged. Breakfast was very nice, not many tables however it was quiet so we got a seat easily. I would not hesitate to stay here again if I were to visit Leicester.

The hotel was clean and had everything that I was looking for. It was a perfect stop-over to get a good nights sleep before going to the University of Leicester the next day to graduate. It was located very well indeed, being close to St. Peter's Square and shopping mall. The cinema and restaurants were very close too and was only a few minutes walk. The only fly in the ointment was the fact that I had to park on the rooftop car park on top of the shopping mall and not beside the hotel itself. This was a small price to pay for an otherwise pleasant stay before graduating.

I’ve stayed at this hotel for the last two weeks. The location is very good with a really good range of food places close by. I stayed for work on the weekdays. The first week I was in a room at the reception end of the hotel on the 3rd floor (business floor). It was fairly quiet most of the week but on the Thursday evening at 230am I was woken up by loud music. I spoke to the receptionist and was told it is usually people in cars outside as the hotel is on top of a car park.

The music stopped at 3 and I didn’t hear it again that night. The second week was quiet until the Tuesday. I was just going to bed around 11pm and very loud noise started. I have lived in the centre of a couple of cities so am used to loud noise. I’ve also read other reviews on here saying the road noise is loud; it’s actually not too bad and never bothered me, with both rooms being on the road side of the hotel.

The noise was music coming from a club called Mosh. It was bassy and very difficult to ignore, far louder than required to get a decent nights sleep. I spoke to the receptionists who played it down as they had the Thursday night before. One came up and agreed that the music was very loud, but that I should try and sleep.

Unfortunately I couldn’t so I went back to reception to try and get another room. They were fully booked and so was every other hotel within 40 miles apparently.

There are signs all over the business (3rd) floor asking guests to be considerate to other people staying at the hotel, which they were. The issue unfortunately isn’t other guests, it’s being situated very close to the back garden of a nightclub. The receptionists said that the club is open Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday, with the student nights being Tuesday and Thursday, that disturbed me.

I don’t imagine it being an issue with people on the weekend, however if staying there for work, and you have any intolerance for loud music like me, I’d consider going somewhere else. I was in room 325 and it was very intolerable.

We got this on a black Friday offer so it was an excellent price, amazing location and even though its basic, it has everything you need for a nights stay. The room had a funny smell, it was coming from the bathroom, but we aired this whilst we were out and it disappeared
