OK so it was cheep the room 319 was a good size room had been refurbished and was clean the bathroom was an adequate size with a large Bach with shower over it I call it a shower but the water pressure was so week you had to move around to get wet the water was hot and the room temperature was good.
With only one small lift that was some distance from the room I walked down the stairs but used the lift to go back up due to breathing problems, the day before we left the lift broke down and it took all day for it to be repaired the lady on reception was pulling her hair out trying to get a reply from the repair company but by dinner Tim it had been repaired so all ok.
The dining room was large and the staff were excellent always helpful and tried to get you your food as quick as possible.
The meals were fine if the helpings were on the small side, breakfast was very good and plentiful shame the toasters weren’t able to keep pace with the demand.
The hotel was ok but wants a lot of work and a second lift would be a good idea.
The position of the hotel is ok but at the time of my visit it was cold and windy and damp not the best walking around the area it looked very rundown and shabby.
All in all not a bad break away but I won’t be rushing back to the area.

Room tip: Upper rooms are better

Good Afternoon,
Thank you for taking the time to leave your comments. I am sorry to hear you did not enjoy all aspects of your recent stay. Unfortunately, with the structure of the building it is not possible to install a 2nd lift. Blackpool can indeed be a windy place in the winter. It is good to know you enjoyed the service provided during your stay.
Regards

We have been to this hotel before and it was quite good, but this time there was things that this grand old building couldn't cope with.i think the hotel staff were getting frustrated as well.one of the biggest failures was the food. Every meal was done on the cheap.we definately didn't get our five a day.the floorboards. In. The bedroom were very noisy, the lift was a nightmare and would not work at all one day from early morning to late afternoon.the holiday was with Shearings coaches which are normally very good ,but failed this time and the driver was very rude .one remark was if your not happy with Shearings go somewhere else (not very custermer friendly) I think the staff were getting frustrated with the hotels situation .entertainment was excellent though

Room tip: Dong get put on the third floor windows very small and long corridoors

Stayed here first weekend in January on a Shearings weekend break and found it to be good value. We were allocated room 217 which according to other reviews is small however it had been refurbished, we thought it was a good size and it had a double and single bed in it. The dinners were typical Shearings, not large portions but I always left the restaurant feeling full, breakfasts are buffet and the cooked items were always replenished and our waitress Kristen was excellent. The only big negative was that there was no entertainment on the Sunday night. I have done a lot of Shearings breaks and every one has had entertainment every night so im not sure if this was a one off, unique to Libertys or part of Shearings cost saving. The result was that after dinner on the Sunday night everyone had to go out into a very cold and wet Blackpool to find entertainment. Luckily enough with it being Blackpool there were places we could go but it would have been far better to walk from a warm restaurant into a warm bar to enjoy a god night without having to get cold and wet. The four free drinks on the Saturday night areal ways a bonus and overall good value. On,y four stars due to no entertainment on Sunday night

Room tip: 217 is a refurbished triple room

This holiday was just before I went into hospital with cancer and the staff at Liberty's made sure my mind was taken off what was to come, ... The staff are all fantastic, the food is great and we shall return.

Together with friends we welcomed in 2019 at the Liberty’s hotel in Blackpool. The hotel was well prepared for the party atmosphere that prevailed over the New Year celebrations. The four of us had a fabulous time because everything was spot on. Welcome gifts in the rooms on arrival. The menu for our first night contained a good variety to suit all tastes. On New Year’s Eve itself the menu was of five courses with dishes you don’t see very often including haggis, neeps and tatties,Expresso, Martini cheesecake. The food itself was beautifully cooked. The entertainment was the very best we have ever experienced at a Shearings Hotel. We had two very talented entertainers, both of them vocalists of high quality and both very funny comedians. They were Paul James and Claire Louise Morris. They were well supported by “The Big Band Broadway voice of Bruce McLaren. Members of staff did everything they could to make the celebrations enjoyed by one and all. They were very successful. Stay there again, most certainly.
