Several of us booked at Tiffany's Hotel for a works do in the area. We learnt on arrival at Tiffany’s that parking for guests was a problem due to limited parking spaces. We were not aware of this prior to our arrival, however, just outside the hotel front entrance was a cone in a parking bay. We needed to check in, get ready for our function and leave the hotel, so, we double parked and ran in to the hotel on the 9th December 2018 to ask reception staff if it was ok for us to move the cone so that we could check in, get ready and leave for our function. A man was on duty and he appeared keen to assist but asked his colleague (a woman) why the cones were there?. The women replied that the bay was not for vehicles and for guest access in and out of the hotel. We were told to park in a double story car park somewhere nearby if there was no other parking in the front of the hotel or the back. We accepted this explanation and looked around for alternative parking. We got settled in the hotel and on our way out to our function, we found a car parked in the same parking that the reception staff claimed not to be a parking bay. We walked back into the hotel and asked the staff about this. The woman appeared to be rather uncomfortable and embarrassed (body language) to be confronted and tried to make alternative excuses. They both tried to defend their decision not to allow us to use that parking space in the first place. On our return from our function after mid night, the same parking bay was empty and we were able to park there without any problems. We did not like the attitude and behaviour of the staff, especially the woman on duty who the young man turned to, to clarify about the parking bay. The staff appeared unhelpful and not understanding of our situation to temporarily use the parking bay. If they were reserving it for someone else, we could have worked together to ensure that who ever they were reserving the parking for would have the parking since we had explained that we needed to get ready and leave for our function. The room we were in was sea view facing but very small. There was also sweet paper wrapping between the side table and bed indicating lack of attention to detail when cleaning. Our other colleague’s room’s carpets were badly stained and the room looked in need for attention. Sorry I did not take a photo of this room with stains.
