Absolutely gorgeous home that has clearly been very well looked after and loved. Excellent location for exploring the Windermere, Bowness-on-Windermere and Ambleside and right across the road from tree top trek, great for family’s.
Communication from Julie was first class and she went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect.
Looking forward to our next visit already.
We just loved our stay at Deer Thwaite Lodge! It is a beautiful cottage, full of character, in the perfect location to explore the Lake District. The location of the lodge offers a lot of privacy and made parking a breeze. It's also very close to Windermere making it very easy to pick up supplies or go out to eat. Although it was just my husband and I staying, the Lodge has 3 big bedrooms and lots of space for lounging and eating. We would love to come back to stay again!
The house is perfectly located between Bowness and Ambleside and comes with everything you could need for a stay in the lakes!
We had a fantastic and comfortable stay.
The bedrooms are all huge and the kitchen is perfect for cooking as it is stocked with all the utensils you could ever need!
Will definitely be recommending
A fantastic weekend spent with great friends whilst attending a wedding at near by langdale chase hotel.
The property is a home from home without the usual daily hassles.
It's well equipped and very spacious.
We had a spectacular visit from not 1 but 3 deer on a snowy morning.
It's quiet and peaceful and a great way to relax. I would definitely recommend and would love to visit again. The only downside was that it's already booked for the weekend in October that we'd like to return.
Thank you to the owner Julie for sharing your beautiful cottage.
This house is located up a quiet lane between Bowness and Ambeside on the shore of Lake Windermere. Its ideally located as a base to visit both, or for ventures and walks further afield within the lake district.
We stayed here as a group of adults requiring 3 double bedrooms. All of the bedrooms are huge and there was no issue with anyone getting a better room than anyone else. The house is massive and comes fully equipped with bedding, towels, cleaning products, games and books - everything you need. There is also a lovely garden and patio with a BBQ, which we would have loved to have used had the weather been better - perhaps if we return in the Summer!
There was a great selection of walking books and flyers detailing local walks which we took advantage of to enjoy a beautiful walk around the Langdales. What a lovely experience which we would never have found otherwise.
Only word of warning is that the walks into Ambleside and Bowness are along a main road which is quite fast and has paths which end and require you to cross the road on occasion. This is a little dangerous near tight bends which are blind. We walked once and then just drove or used local taxi firms after that. Don't let this put you off, we thought it was a small price to pay to stay in such a great property.
