“Home from Home”
Reviewed 11 November 2014 for a stay in November 2014

Riverside Cottage has everything you need for a great self catering stay in the Lakes. Within easy walking distance to Keswick town centre and surround by a range of fells for some excellent walking. You won't go far wrong when looking for a place to stay. The cottage is excellently equiped, good quality kitchen equipment, under floor heating, plenty of hot water for your daily shower, really comfy bed and free WI FI. Even a washing machine if you get a bit desperate and feel like doing a bit of house work! Jana the owner is very friendly and welcoming, lives next door so it is easy to collect and return the keys. All of this for a fantastic price. The only down side is the cottage is so nice you don't want to tramp through in your mucky wet walking gear so take along some plastic bags to put your stuff on at the door. Or take advantage of all the cottage has to offer and just chilli out before taking a walk to the shops and a pint in one of the many excellent pubs in Keswick.

We have previously stayed in the Lakes in B&B or small hotels, the beauty of Riverside Cottage was that we could do our own thing, especially in the mornings. Not having to be tied to a set breakfast time frame meant we could get out into the mountains quicker. Direct local walks to Skiddaw and access to Northern Lakes easier than staying in Grassmere or Ambleside. We still travelled back to Ambleside to Fellinis and Zefferellis for some lovely meals.
Great accommodation, with all you need for a carefree stay. Jana very welcoming.
Will be back again...

I thought the location was perfect since it was close to town center, with many shops and restaurants. Owners very helpful and cottage was perfect for a couple. All the ammenities you could ask for. Everything was very clean and kitchen very large to cook in for self catering. We enjoyed a wonderful boat trip within walking distance of the town center. Also had wifi which was a bonus & worked great for us.
