Overall very good. Good communications with the owner. Good facilities.Off road parking. Well kept garden. Mae's tearoom 1 mile away in Uldale is excellent. Highly recommend the teashop for lunch or cake & tea. A couple of small points to note about the old chapel. The glass stained windows in the lounge obviously do not have curtains across so anyone in the bunk bed room opposite will wake up with the morning light. The spiral staircase up to the bunk bed room is not ideal for everyone. Good washing machine, but no tumbledryer, just wooden clothes airer inside and outside clothes airer. Overall really enjoyed our stay and would recommend to others.
The chapel cottage itself was fantastic. Only problem was the isolation and no shop to buy milk etc.
We needed a place that would suit a wheelchair user, and it was perfect for that. Wide open spaces on a single level, and for the rest of us the stairs to the other levels were fine. We enjoyed the wood-burning stove (yes, even in July!).
We have already booked it again fro October - that says something!
we recently stayed for a week in this spacious and attractively furnished cottage situated in the small quiet village of Ireby in the Northern Fells area of Cumbria. The cottage has everything needed for a relaxing holiday and is convenient for day trips to the National Park, the coast and Carlisle.
Such a beautiful place, peaceful with lots of lovely villages near by. Hiking was spectacular in the area and even managed to hike some of Hadrian's Wall, such a treat although lots of rain that day still worth it. Pub nearby has great food and people are very friendly. Great place to
unwind, unplug and de-stress. Very comfortable accommodation with all that you need even a great garden. Could have stayed longer, maybe next time
