“Perfect for a group of friends and minutes walk from town and a host of pubs”
Reviewed 17 July 2012 for a stay in July 2012

We came to the Lake District to climb Scafell Pike and chosse to stay at Sefton House due to its proximity to the start point. As well as being a great base for walkers, it is minutes walk from the town centre with a host of pubs, restaurants and other ameities. The very beautiful Derwent Water is also on your doorstep and well worth a visit.

The house itself is lovely, clean and bright and well stocked with everthing you would need. It's a perfect place for a group of friends or a large family.

“Comfortable and spacious house in a great location”
Reviewed 17 April 2012 for a stay in April 2012

Sefton House is a nicely presented spacious three storey house very close to the centre of Keswick. There were two late opening convenience stores within a couple of minutes walk, and Booths is a great supermarket for main shopping about 10 minutes away. Bedrooms were all nicely decorated, beds were firm but comfortable. Nice big table in the dining room, and a well appointed kitchen stocked with a good range of utensils, only things lacking were a really big saucepan, and a decent sharp knife.
The main let down of the house is the TV in the lounge, it's really small, and positioned ridiculously high up on the wall. No WiFi was a bit of a nuisance too.
Noticed some guests had complained about the lack of a washing machine, however there is a dishwasher which we found more useful. If you really need to wash clothes there is a launderette in the same street.
There were a few small maintenance jobs we sorted which should have been picked up by the agents - blown bulb in floor lamp in living room, no batteries in DVD remote, kitchen clock not working, kitchen light diffuser not fitted.
However, it was a great base for a holiday in the Lakes and we would be happy to rent again.

“good value central accomodation”
Reviewed 18 February 2012 for a stay in February 2012

Good value in well proportioned house -best suited for families as the bunk beds are only sized for children. Needs an update on equipment-no washing machine but Launderette nearby and unfortunately lacking a few basics like toast rack, small glasses for breakfast juice, spare light bulbs and waste papers bins in each of the rooms etc.-can be easily corrected. Very warm property throughout and very generous dining table just off the kitchen for discussing the days events and planning the next walk-previous guests have commented on the T.V. being too high above the fireplace in the lounge so it`s difficult to watch and I`ve got to agree with this but overall would recommend to friends for location and value for money.

“A good lakeland house”

We stayed at Sefton House for a weekend, Friday to Monday, at the beginning of November. The property is fresh and bright and furnished in the currently favoured ‘ikea’ style, it’s location in Keswick is good and only a few minutes walk are needed to reach the town centre. Outside space is limited, with just a small yard to the rear, this was not a problem however with all the beautiful countryside all around. The 4th bedroom is furnished for younger children and as we had an adult using the room they found the small bunk a bit claustrophobic. The house is well equipped with pretty much any item you could need (except washer – not an issue over 4 days), heating and hot water both plentiful and perform well. The TV in the sitting room is small and mounted high up on the wall, it should be lower down on the wall to prevent neck strain! WiFi would be a positive addition to the property. Our group found the beds comfortable, but the synthetic duvets a little disappointing.
