We have stayed at this hotel on 2 occasions. It is well situated in the town of Kewick, next to the swimming pool and park area. It has a lovely setting and is very friendly and comfortable.

The food in the restaurant is amazing. They also provide lovely packed lunches for those who like to go out walking.

The rooms are clean and decorated to a nice standard.

I would highly recommend this hotel.

Our first time staying at this hotel and I would definitely return.
It is an old building but is well maintained and decorated . The rooms were large and very clean with fairly modern bathrooms.
The main plus is the very friendly staff and the excellent food and service in the restaurant. The food is simply superb and the staff are very efficient and can't help enough .
Together with the fact that the hotel is only a few hundred yards from the centre I will be back to this lovely hotel.

Room tip: 3 rd floor was very quiet

Both of these hotels are operated by Choice Hotels. The Keswick is usually around £160 a night dinner bed and breakfast whilst The Patterdale is usually around £110 a night for the same board basis. We travel up to The Lakes quite a lot and tend to use these two hotels. The Keswick is the better of the two both for food and old world charm although the rooms in both are virtually identical. Having been asked by a friend which was the better value I gave up even trying to decide. Both are very good value but each ticks different boxes. If you want somewhere to eat sleep and shower between trips onto the fells then the Patterdale is probably the better bet. If you want a hotel 'experience' then The Keswick.

Pricey place but couldn't be in s better location for Keswick town centre and walk up Skiddaw. Good breakfast but inning room in middle of redecoration and not told about this before booking. Had two breakfasts which were fine but despite high price for room had to pay extra for fish breakfast. Bar very good and relaxing. Despite decorators and price I enjoyed my weekend here. Characterful if somewhat dated
