“Excellent, fantastic stay”
Reviewed 24 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

excellent and fantastic stay. well equipped and had everything we need. very clean and tidy accommodation for a family of four. Also very good location for places to visit at Lake District. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Lake District and no hesitation to book Dragon,s Den when we visit Lake District next time.

“Excellent cosy cottage in a lovely peaceful spot”
Reviewed 23 August 2015 for a stay in August 2015

We had a fab week at Dragons Den. The setting is very peaceful and you definitely need a car to get around but it is a perfect base for exploring both the lakes and the Yorkshire Dales in the other direction. The cottage is beautifully presented and had everything we needed for a lovely stay. (My children enjoyed all the board games so much we sometimes had trouble tearing them away!)

The owner Alison popped round with some extra towels (after texting first) and was very friendly and hospitable so have no doubt would be on hand very quickly if there had been any problems. The only other thing that might be useful since the cottage is probably booked by lots of families like ours who like to go out for walks would be a washing machine/dryer so you could clean up some of those muddy clothes. However, this is not a big issue and we would definitely recommend Dragons Den as a really lovely place to stay.

Management Response

Many thanks for your kind review. I do appreciate your comments about a washer/dryer but due to the space limitations in the kitchen it just isn't possible.
Very pleased you and the family had a nice time!

“Clean, cosy and accommodating!”
Reviewed 18 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

Having stayed at the Dragons' Den cottage for 3 nights, I would without question consider heading back there in the future! The cottage was a perfect size for our needs and all facilities and rooms were incredibly clean and beautifully furnished. The cottage is placed in a beautiful location alongside a gently, trickling brook with a number of walks right on the doorstep.

The owners were incredibly accommodating and friendly, even offering to give us a lift back to the train station. There is also a comprehensive information pack, which gives information regarding local attractions and restaurants.

All in all, incredibly good value for money and an incredibly relaxing and enjoyable stay was had by us all!

“Excellent value”
Reviewed 1 September 2014 for a stay in August 2014

Spent a five night break at this cottage around August Bank Holiday. (Mum, Dad and teenage son). Excellent value for money. The owner allows short breaks throughout the year and does not hike up prices for the school holidays. The property is beautifully presented and spotlessly clean. There are a lot of personal touches and thoughtful items within the cottage which make it a true home from home. It is located well to explore the Lakes to the west and the Yorkshire Dales to the east. Highly recommended.
