“A really comfortable, homely cottage with excellent facilities”
Reviewed 1 March 2014 for a stay in February 2014

We stayed here for a long weekend in early February and were immediately impressed by the warm, homely nature of the cottage, It's actually two cottages knocked together and this gives the place a bit of a quirky feel. The downstairs rooms seem a little small for a cottage of this size but there are endless nooks and crannies where you can find a comfy space and relax, The upstairs is amazing!...four poster beds, a balcony overlooking the garden, luxurious bathrooms, fell views and bags of charm. All this within a 10 minute stroll of downtown Ambleside....the hike back up takes a little longer but it's well worth it!

Thank you for your lovely comments. So pleased you enjoyed the cottage and felt at home. We hope to see you again.

As a point of interest, it is only one original cottage which has been extended into the adjoining barn, providing the additional ground floor bedrooms, ground floor shower room and first floor Studio.

As you say, lots of cosy places to hide away!

“Book it!!”
Reviewed 28 February 2014 for a stay in January 2014

We stayed at Seathwaite Cottage for the weekend in January. As soon as we arrived and stepped foot inside the cottage we all felt instantly at home. It really is a beautiful place. The cottage boasts fantastic views, and is in a perfect location, being a 10 minute downhill walk into the centre of Ambleside. The garden is amazing and I would love to see it in the summer time. The house is very well stocked with everything that you need for a comfortable stay, the owners really have thought of everything, there was also a cupboard full of games /jigsawsor the whole family to enjoy. My teenage daughter especially liked the little studio room at the end of the cottage, a great place for her to read and have her own space. The owners were great in every way, and replied to my many questions very quickly. I was so sad to leave the cottage and can’t wait to return. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend . Book it, you won’t regret it.

“Stunning Cottage”
Reviewed 20 September 2013 for a stay in September 2013

After staying in various cottages for 9 years this is by far the most comfortable, lovely and clean cottage we have stayed in. The little touches of the owners thinking of everything was wonderful. We have booked for October and plan to rebook again. The cottage is well situated for access to all of the lakes and particularly Ambleside. Even the steep hill back is interesting with a full tummy of the excellent foods and beers available in Ambleside. The beds were awesomely comfortable. Our dogs were also safe and comfortable.

“A very nice cottage, well maintained.”
Reviewed 7 September 2013 for a stay in August 2013

Seathwaite Cottage is in a lovely location, approx 10 min walk downhill to Ambleside village, but 20 min way back as very steep hill. A bit of a struggle with a pushchair. The Cottage is surrounded by fields and lovely and quiet. The rear garden is terraced using Lakeland stone, on several levels which is very pretty.
The property is well equiped with washing machine and tumble dryer, which was very handy with children.
The kitchen has an excellent oven, which we cooked several nice meals.
The cups are bone china, which made a lovely cup of coffee. The crockery was of equal good quailty, Port Merion i think. It was lovely to have quality crockery and utensils.
My Teenage Son loved the sitting area of the four poster room, which allowed him to watch his own film,s and have him his own space.
Seathwaite Cottage has been well thought out, and has a homely feel.
Ambleside is a lovely village with several tea rooms, and an excellent place to buy hillwalking gear.

“Everything we expected and much more!”

Beautiful spacious cottage which made it ideal for the children and adults to have their own space yet at the same time felt cosy. Seathwaite Cottage is truly a home from home; full of lovely paintings and ornaments. The garden suits all - a flat patio area followed by well stocked raised levels where you could hide away and read. Inside the house everything you thought you might need was at hand and in ample supplies from bin liners to endless cutlery and mugs. The location was ideal for us - not in the town but only 5 mins walk down (10 mins up with the hill!) which meant the children had their independence and evenings out were no trouble. Access and parking was good. You can see the high spec of Seathwaite Cottage from its website and our week spent there was everything we expected and much more! Definitely will return.

Liked best: So spacious there was room for everyone to do their own thing or for us all to be together. Very flexible accommodation.
Liked least: Being picky - the kitchen is galley style which is not my preferred layout
