Great coffee house and especially the sea view! Nice coffee and bar food from next door Hotel. Yes, it could do with being upgraded, but my friends and I meet regularly here. The staff are always polite and never rush us. We recently spent 3hrs here over 2 rounds of coffee!! Loyalty points are an added bonus!!

Staff are very friendly, the food looked nice but it is very overpriced. I paid £8 for a large all day breakfast. The food was cold when it arrived, It was served on a large plate with the portion size of what I would call a regular breakfast. There was no tea or coffee included in the price either.

Why is this cafe so neglected? It has the benefit of being in a fantastic location, attached to a decent hotel and serviced by their chef's and kitchens. This place should be the 'go to' coffee shop in East Kent surely, but instead is just a sluggish attempt by the hotel owners at collecting a few extra ££’s. I have a hunch it’s just an inconvenience that just ticks along.

I visited early in January after a seafront stroll and was both disappointed and taken aback by the tatty unkempt nature of the cafe. It was like walking into a corner shop/1970's lounge. The decor is dated and messy, the fantastic parquet floor dull and lifeless, the furniture worn out, and a bank of old fridges stuck against one wall humming and rattling like a 1960’s chevvy. The front counter imposes like a check point as you walk in the door and the staff appered lacking any uniform or corporate identity whihc is odd considering this is a corporate business. I must add the staff were pleasant enough, although I saw no real attempt to engage with customers.

On the plus side, the coffee was great and the snacks coming out of the kitchen looked very good. The menu, however, was a triangular dirty leatherette table decoration with photocopied inserts displaying the same items on 2 sides. Lazy marketing!

How on earth can you run a nice looking hotel one side of the wall, and a dated and dark coffee cave on the other? It just doesn’t make sense. A bit of investment and thought could turn this venue into a real asset for the business and the town. If the management read this review, which I doubt, then please give me the franchise to run this place. Such a waste!!
